YAY! Now the "agree to disagree" argument. Love it.
Does this mean that you just won't be answering any of the questions posed or reviewing the proposal to refine it? Fantastic. Well done. _____________________

We can do this until the cows come home(old saying), so we'll agree to disagree. Im curious on if you see my point about what will happen with unrestricted killing though. Most MMOS with PVP have learned that the less restritive their PVP the nastier the results. The Murder gangs I described actually do exist in many. Nearly all have set up some automatic negative result to killing someone, since the bounties would not allow for any sort of safety. Those who werent in murder gangs would end up staying near the guards so they are safe from random deaths. And this is without the 5$ US penalty. |

Colette, i do see what you mean, and seeing as though there is an unlimited amount of land it will be hard to police. Thats why i'm thinking of trying to pull this off on 10 sims (combined), this would give me more of an ability to control the area and set specific rules and other features that i would like to implement. And no Mickey, i will not stop stating my ideas (not until i have a solid plan).
Could i some how charge say 1USD for 6 or 8 lives. Maybe i can provide filling stations where people can refill their lives or could an option window pop up to purchase more lives. I have an idea to sell products that will create an income for the participants(outside of life and death, the sale of products will keep participants interest). |

Tell you what Jamil. You set up your "oh so glorious" idea, get it running, make it popular, start making some money. When you're finally breaking even I personally conceed the point that it's not a good idea. I only ask that when you go bankrupt that I get to laugh in your face.

Mickey, let me buy you a drink sometime. I quit drinking a LONG time ago (far too long ago for someone as young and glorious as m'self, that's for sure!), but I'd love a coffee sometime! Jamil, I don't believe I asked you to STOP posting your ideas, just to refine them as you go. I like the idea of having it as an option and possibly trying it out on 10 sims (although, I have a feeling it would be more along the lines of trying it out on beta, as a grid-wide option (i.e. It can be turned off if you don't want it), then seeing how that goes. This is the biggest problem I have with what you've been saying. It how you've been presenting it, not letting us know that your original proposal has changed. _____________________

Lol, yeah Jamil your idea is a great one man, ignore all these haters on your idea man. I'd play your kind of second life before i'd play this one. All the people hating on your idea, the ones giving the most criticism towards it, they are just basically little nerd losers who have no real life, and the only thing they can win at is Second Life, a game in which you can't lose if you don't want to. So the only reason your idea would be a bad one is because if you take away the only thing they can win at in their pathetic lives, you'll cause them to have nervous breakdowns, panic attacks, and will result in them being carried off in a straight jacket to the mental hospital. I hope to see your idea work out one day Jamil, sounds good. Keep up the good thinking.

I'm always curious with posts like these how people can make sweeping statements like this. "Little nerd losers who have no real life". How do you know this? What basis are you making your assumption? MOST of the people giving critiques (such as myself) have actually offered support to a modified version of this. I get the feeling from the language you use that you would be one of the first to line up and start killing us "little nerd losers" if this came into play. Your reasoning? Well, I guess it's 'cuz we're "little nerd losers"... right? Can you define winning, by the way? Financial success? Yep. I got that. I have a nice little business that allows me a half sim that I don't have to pay for. Social success? Yep. Got a good core group of friends. Win in a fight? Nope. I'm a pacifist. ESPECIALLY in a frickin' video game where killing and fighting is only an option. Win in a verbal fight? Well, I don't think anyone has any illusions that you'd... um... yeah. We'll just leave that there. I played WoW. I played EQ. I played CoH. Lotsa killing and winning and losing there. I wouldn't mind it here in SL. As long as I wasn't forced to participate, I might even join up and play some of the games. As I tried to explain to Jamil and, I hope, got across... and what I think YOU may have missed... is that it's not the concept we're opposed to, it's the original proposal that it be grid-wide, allowing griefers even more power. Get it? Grid-wide implementation = BAD. An option, much like damage, to allow for great games to be played, in specific areas, with real ramifications for playing badly = AWESOME. _____________________

LoL, see what I was talking about Jamil? Mickey's about to blow a gasket because I just basically described him and his life to the tee. And its so funny that he goes "Why all the aggression" and he's the one typing in caps every other sentence. I'm sorry Mickey..did I hurt your feelings?? Do you need a hug?? Medical attention? lol. And from reading the whole thread, lol I kinda knew you would be the first one to respond because it seems like you live on the forums. And another thing Jamil and the rest that are reading this thread. Did you notice that everything he said in his response referred to things he has in Second life. He has business with sims in SL, Friends in SL , and whatever else he said. Which proves my point exactly, people like Mickey have no real life, thats why they get so defensive over SL. So calm down Mickey, count to 10, take some deep breaths, and you'll be fine buddy
P.S. This is not to knock anybody who loves SL, I LOVE SL , but theres a difference between enjoying it and living it like its the only thing you have in life. |

Make sure you report more than once. You cannot allow someone like me who tells the truth and makes you look at yourselves in the mirror and see how really are, to stay in this forums. Hurry get me out before you become more depressed at your situation than you already are.

This is not to knock anybody who loves SL, I LOVE SL , but theres a difference between enjoying it and living it like its the only thing you have in life. Huh? Blow a gasket? My use of caps is for emphasis. It wasn't every other sentence, it was only when I wanted to emphasize a word. And, sweetie, you couldn't hurt my feelings. Trying to elicit an emotional response by attacking me? I'm sure that's fun for you. As it happens, I am fortunate enough to have a very nicely paying job that allows me enough downtime to be on the forums as often as I like. I've been on quite a bit recently because there have been suggestions and proposals that interest me. Some of them would impact negatively on how I enjoy Second Life. Those I speak out on. So, yeah. Your "truth" is... well... it's completely wrong. I have a VERY fulfilling life outside of SL AND I'm lucky enough to have a great time and a fantastic situation in this wonderful entertainment. But thank you for your assumptions, based solely on... um... nothing, other than your desire to attack someone who disagrees with you. Now. If you would be so kind, would you please actually read my post and respond to the points raised? I'm curious what your views on this subject are. Would you prefer it as a gridwide thing or would you be happy to have it as an optional feature, allowing you to kill folks who agree to be killed. Do you agree or disagree that a gridwide implementation of this, with no other option, would be a complete paradigm change in how SL is used? That it would completely change how people interact, how they congregate? That there is a possibility that the banline problem would just get worse and worse if this were implemented, where people like me, who do not want to die or be killed, who do not want to pay the extra cash to be bought back to life, would close off all their private land to protect themselves from roaming marauders? Do you think that there is a possibility that such a thing would happen? That there would, in fact, be an upsurge of people just running around killing folks for no reason? How do you think it would impact newcomers, especially those without creditcards, or access to money, if they were forced to pay every time someone decided to take a potshot at them? Care to address any of these questions or are you just gonna keep attacking and spouting nonsense? Just curious. _____________________

Now thats a better tone to post a message in. Sometimes you have to give some people got swift kick in the behind or a slap on the head to make them talk respectfully. I hope you continue to post responses in this tone to Jamil as he only posed an idea, which I thought was a very good one. And no i'm not gonna take the time to answer all those questions as I have some more important things to get to in real life at the moment, I don't have the time to take and hour to write a response to a forum like you do Mickey. But summing my time on this thread up. Jamil you did have a great idea in my opinion and I hope to see something like that someday. And for the rest of the haters, you can talk all the junk you want, I won't be viewing this thread anymore after this post, so anything you say i wont see, and if you say something bad, then it'll really just show the rest of the readers of this thread how childish, and fascinated you are of me. So now all the haters...you are allowed to do your little weak criticisms and non humorous jokes without having to worry about me cutting you down and making you look like fools. Thank you.....Goodbye
