If it is needed, I will rez the mud wrestling pit for the hangout. That way all disputes can be settled like rational civilized beings, by rolling around on top of each other in mud. You'll excuse me if I just watch, but don't join....getting the mud off me afterwards is icky. _____________________

There seems to be a lot of threads lately on various different subjects ranging from orientation to just plain "bitchin". I tend to agree with you. I am getting tired of smart-ass answers and snipes and sheer bloody-mindedness at anyone who expresses opinions that don't coincide with the relatively small group of "regulars" who appear to have "ownership" of these forums. _____________________

You know, it's wildly ironic that just weeks ago, quite a few oldies like Travis and Isablan were saying that we're the kinder, gentler forum, compared to the ones that got the whole thing nearly shut down a while back. I see us as moving rapidly toward that bad end of the scale, and it's ugly, and I'm wondering just WHY it's happening? I'm sure that most of us here have strong views on certain topics, and therefore maybe those topics shouldn't be discussed? I dunno. It's like the old saying, "Don't discuss sex, religion, or politics at a cocktail party." I for one could use a martini.

To be truthful, judging by the tone around here lately, I'm expecting fisticuffs, semi automatic weapons, and perhaps a tactical nuclear weapon, that will destroy Forumania, rendering the Sim uninhabitable for decades. heh. I was, ironically, running around shooting "infected people" while all the figurative fighting was going on in the forums. I prefer the running around and shooting people in SL. _____________________

I find it interesting that comments are still being made regarding the "regulars" all having the same opinions. In "THE" thread the regulars were not in agreement at all. There was disagreement, bickering and debate all around. This argument just doesn't hold water for me the more I see it. _____________________

The purpose of this thread seems to be in support of someone else's thread that was locked and the wording they used as was controversial. Basically saying we shouln't have objected so strongly. I agree with you Colette. I don't think it was intentional though, just personal bias getting in the way. I could be wrong but that's the way I see it. I think his heart is in the right place though. It did get out of hand for sure. I think it deserved to be locked. But I don't regret not backing down on it. Since my posts on that thread make me part of the negativity thats supposedly suddenly so pervasive, I wanted to point that out. |
