Yes - I agree. The kitten was cute too. Then again I tend to view beauty and it's opposite in SL as subjective. I'm a lot more annoyed with security scripts near my land that shoot me into another sim when I fly by than I am with how someone chooses to build something - whatever it is that they decide to build.

I and many have reported the group w-hats and a few of their members. I too gots those cute neg rates *points to the neg rates on profile* They are mad at me cause a few of their group members had bombed my club assuming I just a club owner werent to happy when I banned them on ALL my land in SL.

Linden said they can neg rate however the use of a group or alts to neg rate is not allowed. Id just have everyone who was rated report them. Plastic Duck is one who does a heap. Ive been playing SL for so long I consider them battle scars hehe. If indeed their were neg rating on my behalf then that is harassment and I'd report that as well.

Many know me in game well enough to send me an IM and ask. I recently had to deal with them harassing the owner of nexcom. Nexcom owners were so sick of this group they sold their land off just to move 100m away. How long is this form of harassment allowed before Linden do a thing? Its nice how Plastic Duck forms Linden fan clubs pfft

this is basically what happened:
There was some kind of avatar contest at your club so me and a few other people decided to go since we have cool avatars (one of them has a giant staypuft). While we were there, someone sets off a bomb, and immediately some edge managers accuse me and the people I was with of doing it because we are w-hats. After being kicked out of your club I did not return again.

A week or so later, I am flying around another part of SL when I see someone working on a build so I dropped in. This guy basically started to harass me and was IMing me repeatedly telling me to give him a copy of my avatar and asking me how I made it. It just so happens that by some odd coincidence this annoying person also happens to be one of your contracted builders/boyfriends/whatever. After teleporting you in, you proceed to freeze me and direct threats at me and accuse me of bombing your club, something I did not do. After more whining/drama/freezing, you proceeded to tell me that you will be banning me and anyone I am friends with from all land that you own.

As for neg rating, it is allowed, and the reason I award more negative rates than positives is because I feel people should be made aware that their 500 pieces of bling are stupid, therefore I award a negative appearance rate. I have never used alts or encouraged group members to negative rate people, if anything I may say something like "wow look at all that annoying particle bling, someones getting an appearance neg".

And the nexcom drama? I was talking to a friend who bought land on the new continent, and I decided that while there are still some large plots available I'd grab one for myself. I found a nice block of 4 first plot lands and after offering 3 friends a month of premium membership for free they agreed to sell me their first land. I then decided to build a nice big tower because well, I like towers. Most people who came by said it was a nice tower and I even decided to hold an event on it where I gave away 2000L and everyone had a good time.

Except of course the owner of nexcom, who posted 3 threads on these forums about my tower, accused the w-hat group of organized griefing (this was my land and my idea, no one in w-hat knew about it until I invited them to the tower after building it) and tried to turn all of his customers against me by threatening to cancel nexcom service if I did not move out. In a meeting I was invited to at the nexcom building he basically told me that he will give me $1000L for the trouble and that I need to move out immediately (this is not exactly a lot of money for 2048sq m of land). After declining his offer he decided to move nexcom to a different part of the sim.

Because of chad's little tantrum, an SL resident (not affiliated with w-hat) who lived beside nexcom's new building asked me to give him the textures I used for my tower so that he can make his own. I gave him the texture, he made a tower, and the nexcom owner made another thread threatening the w-hat group. Finally a third person who also liked my tower and who had his own tower in another part of SL in which he housed his gun store decided that he'd set up another shop in the new continent and he also bought land near nexcom where he brought in a copy of his tower (which has existed much longer than nexcoms building, this wasn't made specifically for "GRIEFING".

Basically what I'm trying to explain is that most people in this community need to stop whining about stupid things.

Incidentally: negative attention is usually a form of attention getting utilized by those who were unable to receive the positive attention they needed as children. *sighs and thinks happy thoughts for the poor lil group of misbehavers...Maybe a nice nap!*

I think it's cool, how many generic suburban houses can to take before you need something weird to make you appreciate the freedom you have here, I have half a mind to join W-hat just because they have such a bad reputation!!!

jesus, you sure can put people in a nice little box can't you? negative attention? there is a big difference between a 'ugly build' and a griefer. Creating things, no matter how unpopular to the 'civilized' crowd, is a constructive art form and that is positive.

Things that people build from a sense of learning and discovery, to suit themselves as best they can with the skill level they have, and with an open and joyous heart are vastly different from things people build to be an irritant to those around them. Every society with the concept of beauty and pleasing design has the opposite, so it's easy to make irritating things. Sometimes the build isn't ugly but the mindset - of making something to ruin someone else's fun - is ugly and immature.

A few welcome area regulars took a tour of Baku recently at someone's suggestion. I think they own the majority - if not all of Baku.

My first impression was "wow, sorta like someone took creativity and put it in a blender". I cannot speak for the group's actions as I've never encountered them, but Baku derserves at least a quick look. Attractive? No. Interesting? Yes. Offensive? Safe for Work if my recollection is correct.
