As someone who moved into Orwood just a few weeks ago -- thinking it was a far-from telehub, not frequented, calm place -- I'm not too happy about the build.
In fact, it much destroys the nice and calm athmosphere. Yeah, it might just not be a violation of TOS, but then, if I spit on someone, and the law doesn't say I can't, am I being nice? Or rather, rude? Laws can't govern all small details of our lives -- and that's good. But that doesn't mean we should do all bad and griefy stuff to the other... |

May I just state for the record that I like Mr. Peanut, the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, The Prince from Katamari Damancy, and kittens.
No reason why these builds can't be in SL....but I do agree that they're kinda dropped on the land like some weird yard sale. I'm not entirely convinced that W-hat is actually out to be avant-garde artists, who happen to be misunderstood. Is there some reason why all W-hat projects seem to have to involve jarring contrasts with the surrounding land and landowners? _____________________

Okay. I bought the land in Orwood (it was next to mine anyway), luckily (or - sparing people-ly) the w-hat group had it set for sale around L$ 6000 -- at least a reasonable price, and not an extortion one.
I bought the land, and now the griefer build is gone. I had to tier up, so that's about 10 USD plus per month for me, but I didn't have much options, and peace is worth it. One of my friends spoke with one of the w-hats, and he/she called themselves 'cyber terrorists', according to my friend. Well, if they are, they have 'won'. First, I 3x neg rated all the people who had ugly builds on that parcel, but then, after buying the land, I undid the negatives... Though I'm sure there are ones who deserve it, but one guy came and apologized and removed his build, so I said maybe I'll not mass-rate them until I know the responsible for sure. |
