Why do you constantly INSIST on bashing someone's project?

It is *his* land.. *his* build... this is no different than if he used one of the Linden freebie Resident store kits and invited a few friends to put stuff up there. NO DIFFERENCE.

Anyone with a Lifetime account HAS paid for it, Prokofy. $225 and the inworld costs to obtain the land. You lack the context for people who bought the land at that time. Noone was sure if Second Life would be around for another 6 mos. There had been a round of layoffs near that time and there was (at least with me) a great uneasiness about spending such an amount with no guarantee that the company would be around for a while. It was a gamble.

But, I digress - the land WAS PAID FOR.

There's nothing free about the 4096; I paid $159.95 for my Charter Membership. That's not a subsidy; it's bought and paid for.

Not socialism; communism. SL is not part of the United States, or any other country. And the freedom to choose any economic model is a strength, not a weakness. Most of my other projects in SL have been pure profit-driven capitalism. This one will not be. You're complete inability to believe that altruism exists is pretty damn sad.

I've never said one word against you for aiming to make a profit in SL. Nor would I, since all of my other ventures have been purely for profit.

Let's try this one more time; none of my very few friends will ever be vendors in AvC. And I won't be gaining friends simply because I generally spend very little time in SL. Anyone who really wants to be my friend these days needs to find me in AO, not SL.

I suspect this is the point that truly enrages you; there's nothing fake about it. I enjoyed the challenge of doing the build, and I'm enjoying other peeps' pleasure in seeing AvC back in the world. There's nothing more to it than that. Once the store is filled with vendors, I'll be an absentee landlord.

No I"m not going to put it on 4096, because the plot it's sitting on is 2048. I have an additional piece of prim land in Aqua which is 1024, and probably will make one additional purchase of 512. I've never owned more than 4096 and have never paid tier. And being chosen because of talent and creativity seems pretty normal to me; in fact it's real life. BTW, what girlfriends???

None of them are my friends. Why is that so difficult to understand? Most of the vendors are people I've never even met or spoken to before. Strangers, not friends...get it?

This is where you're truly insane. How do you think Macy's or any rl store chooses the merchandize it sells? Do they have lotteries? That's what you demanded that I do in your original post. The answer is, they pick and choose based on factors which include quality and popularity...exactly as I'm doing.

And just in case you haven't figured it out, SecondLife isn't FirstLife, and would be utterly pointless if it never went beyond mere mimicry of the mundane. Within the confines of the TOS, the only rule is that there are no rules.

I have paid for the land. Are you operating under the delusion that LL simply hands us 4096 of free land? There is absolutely nothing involved here that was free. I don't pay tier for my first 4096 only because I paid $159.95 up front. And every bit of land I own was bought with L$.

Have you ever considered actually checking the facts before making false accusations? There are already vendors in AvC who hadn't posted here; and some of those were approached by me, not the other way round. And they are not, repeat not, friends of mine. There are exactly six people I have ever considered friends here, even briefly, and none of them are or ever will be AvC vendors.


How many times must I say that the vast majority of vendors weren't Beta testers. Do you have any clue how sick you're beta-envy really is?

Like pretty much everyone else, I post in this part of the forums because it's the only one that people look at. Nothing more to it than that.

I personally don't give a rat's ass if anyone ever shops at AvC. I'm losing a substantial amount of money doing this project; and it's intentional. Why exactly does that bother you so f*cking much?

If you'd bother to get some facts instead of made up horse crap, you'd know that I've been running a for-profit business elsewhere in SL for over a year. So much for allergies.

Core? Many other Charter Members are now extremely wealthy, and/or popular, and/or greatly admired for their creativity. I am none of those things. My cash account has never hit 50K, and is currently barely over 20k. I'm near the bottom on all Leader Board categories, and always have been. If that's FIC, then FIC means loser.
