Jeska,
Since you moved a post I made to political forums, I request that you move all other posts that have any political substance in them to political forums as well. Else it would be considered a double standard on your part.
I'll be happy to list you all the posts in this forum that are political in nature if you are unable to make that distinction. Alternatively you can also consult with SuezanneC Baskerville, as she apparently has great insight on deciding what post is political or not and you appear to trust her judgement.

She doesn't read everything. There were comments about the other threads being in the wrong forum but obviously they didn't take the time to bring them to the moderators attention. Being unaware is not being unfair. If you haven't you contacted her with your complaint then posting here and expecting her to happen across it seems unfair. The forum guidelines are pretty straight forward. The steps for moving a thread are outlined as follows:
Your Role In Helping To Moderate The Forums There’s a significant amount of traffic to the Second Life Forums, and it isn’t possible for us to read every thread. You can help keep the forums constructive and useful with the following tools:
Report posts – If you see a post that you think violates the Community Standards, is posted in the wrong forum, or in some way requires review, please report it. We’ll take a look at it and will take any action necessary.

So you are telling me that a forum moderator (that is what she is right?) is unable to make a judgement when at least 3-4 thread TITLES (never mind the content) are political in nature in the first page of general forums? So it means she is completely dependent on people who take the time to bring these to her attention? That sounds like a bunch of baloney to me.

Just wondering, what does it matter if it was moved?

I am not a fan of inconsistent moderation by any stretch of the imagination, but here I would say that it probably is that she has not gotten to the others yet. We have no idea how many reports of posts they may go through. If their forums work anything like mine do, when someone reports a post, you receive a report with a link to that thread. She may be following up on threads that way and not going into General first to see the titles of other threads. The thread itself most likely has options for her to move/edit/close as well, all without going to the main page. I know it can be annoying to have your thread moved because general gets the most traffic, but that is the point of the specialised forums. It is frustrating when you see one thread moved and not another, but your best course of action is to just report the threads that should not be here and move on. Pissing off Jeska probably won't help.

From: Beau Perkins Just wondering, what does it matter if it was moved? Nothing if it wasn't that one individual (not the moderator) can decide where your thread should be posted. Especially, if you felt that individual requested this in not good intent.

Ok I don't want to get on your bad side here because i know that you are pissed, but your thread was moved because it belonged in that forum, not General. If it didn't belong in the politics forum, no report of it would have gotten it moved there. I know you are mad not because it was moved, but because it seems like it was moved on the whim of someone, but again, ultimately it is where the thread belongs.

Are you seriously thinking that someone is hovering overhead 24/7? The forums are primarily for communications amongst subscribers. I sure hope they aren't expending the resources to monitor adults in a private forum according to your expectations. Apparently they don't either:

I did what as told and reported over a dozen threads that are political in nature to be moved (4 of which in the first page). Let's see what happens.

From: Beau Perkins Just wondering, what does it matter if it was moved? What's most significant in my mind about it being moved is that it once again demonstrates the inconsistent application of rules and policies. And I do not believe for a moment that the only way they can touch a thread is if someone reports it. Its perfectly clear to me that had any care been taken at all to use an even hand, several threads would have been moved en masse. And it certainly doesnt settle any questions I have about favoritism, priviledge and special treatment. I guess the next step is to lock this one for discussing the other one. After all .. them's the wrools!

I may sound like baloney, and I can, in fact, understand why you might feel that way. But please understand that moderating any internet forum is a difficult task. And the SL board contains many subforum (subfora?) that need to be monitored. And with what I suspect are a high number of abuse complaints coming from certain factions, it becomes even harder. A case can be made that there are inadequate resources from moderating this board, but it is what it is. You'd be better off letting Jeska know about other political topics directly. That said, I can certainly understand your frustration. From: Jim Lumier And I do not believe for a moment that the only way they can touch a thread is if someone reports it. Its perfectly clear to me that had any care been taken at all to use an even hand, several threads would have been moved en masse. I'm not sure anyone is saying that the only way something can be moved is by a report. What is definitely being said is that Jeska may not be *aware* of stuff unless someone reports it. I'm not sure I understand how this falls into a case of inconsistent applications of the rules. A political thread was moved (and I guess, rightly so), but others were not. And since we can't peek into Jeska's head to know why, I tend to draw the conclusion that the other threads have been missed. I do have one other related theory (unprovable, unfortunately). And that is that Snowcrash's thread got several abuse reports filed for being in the wrong area (a petty complaint, I think) meaning that it got bumped up in "importance" for moderator action. Perhaps that's tin-foil hat material, dunno.

You know, it seems like most progressive causes in SL (Bill of Rights, player-run moderation, reformation of land auctions, binding democratic votes) are opposed not by the Lindens or by special interest groups (land barons, forum junkies) that might suffer from the changes but by a crowd of anti-intellectuals, who irrationally resist change.
Did you ever notice that?

From: Weedy Herbst No, they are just illusions of *edited* . This was my first AR in a couple of months. When I discuss free speech, I always state that one should have free speech up until the point where it affects the freedom of another. This is a perfect example where the speech has crossed the line and is being used unambiguously for defamation. Thus under the moderation reforms that I'm always going on about, this (just like it is now) would still be punishable. It's exactly what this forum can do without. ~Ulrika~

~Ulrika~ Don't worry, Ulrika. When people revert to ad hominem it just bolsters your argument that the people resisting change are without logic. Now, I didn't vote for the Bill of Rights proposal because I thought it was insufficient and would not provide a good structure. ... That being said - LL did once say that if we wrote up a decent Bill of Rights and promote it, they would consider accepting it. Instead of these short, detail-less "we want rights" votes, we should come up with something complete and cohesive - something LL can sink their teeth into and use as a plan, not just a concept.

Was it Groucho Marx who said "Judge not, lest ye be judged" or was it "Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it, misdiagnosing it and then misapplying the wrong remedies"?

Just an idea....but perhaps a game where people actually CHOOSE to govern\be governed, would be ideal? http://www.govern-online.net/is one such, or... http://www.gamesites200.com/mpog/out.php?id=2210is another that looks very well detailed and full of depth. Surely something like this would be far more appealing?...ie an online world where everyone involved WANT'S "government"...
