Character Classes and Social Levels within SL

I am a midbie, but I have heard that I can level up to an oldbie if I can find the Gem of Maximum Irritation said to be hidden somewhere in DaBoom IN A BOX in the basement.

It's under the Edge, near the orgy ball. You have to kill Jenna somebody to get to it though.

Ahh..yes..but one the pleasures of being a Midbie is that I can appear wise to Newbies, yet use the excuse of "I wasn't around then" to the Oldbies. It really is a pretty comfortable place.

I guess I just managed to squeeze in under Oldbie status. Sept. 5th 2003 was my start date. I would have started sooner but Cristiano had *just* gotten me to try THERE and I was busy bitching at him for trying to pull me to "yet ANOTHER game". haha

The Forums are where all secret information is passed back and forth between Oldbies and Linden puppets. I haven't been able to break thier entire code yet, but so far I've managed to decipher the following:

Maeve, the secret handshake is like a cross between baseball pitching signs and handjive, it takes a few weeks to learn. If anyone wants lessons and you are at least a midbie, Phillip has arranged to fly us all to LA where he has reserved an entire floor of rooms for us in the Beverly Hills Hotel. He will be handing out free alt accounts and millions of Linden dollars, then we are all going to go to the Viper Room (I hear Vexy Strut is playing! Yay!) and having a meeting concerning the agenda for SL in 2005, especially about what to do with all those newbie pelts. After that we are all heading down to Tijuana for margaritas, Coronas, tequila, dancing and recruitment of newbies. The American newbies are catching on to our schemes so Mexico is the new target. Canada is next month.

The death of John Denver was orchestrated in a nefarious plot between LL and the Oldbie Skull & Bones Club. He was too nice to newbies for our liking. Too bad, I like his music.

A clue for those who would compete for the prize...

A year ago almost, at the very beginning of 2004, the last of the Linden Mind-Control devices was destroyed in a two pronged attack thought up by James Miller and Ryen Jade, in which James distracted the Lindens while Ryen caused an implosion of the machine using a fusion reactor, a hollow torus and a confused hippo.

Soon there after, Aurican Sunchaser, in a bid to re-establish Oldbie control, set up the orbital controllers. You may find them orbiting the world at various heights. Some have discovered them and sent attack sattelites to destroy them, such as Chance's Acidic Flights, cunningly disguised as Land Scanners...

Still, the OMCMs are still there, Masers in orbit, controling the thoughts of Midbies and Newbies alike with focused Microwave beams. Your only defence being a foil hat, but knowing the properties of Microwaves, even this is hazardous, as can be seen by the forum actions of certain individuals who tried.

If you would shield yourself, you need first to obtain the pencil of deletion from Jeska Linden, and enter the Pyramid at Mocha. If you can reach the orbital station, you stand a chance. But only if you've reached level 36 or better, and have obtained the gloves of heroism from BigJohn Jade.

Beware, for this path is long and frought with danger. And even success guarantees nothing. For we, the Oldbies will not give up our control easily!
