I am seeking permission to have an event at my place in honor of the milestones you have crossed. I would also like one of you guys to do a little demo at the place (granting you permit to me having the event) I would just like to honor you guys and everything you have done for secondlife. Your inventions/contraptions are mind blowing and highly loved by many residents.
I would like to personally thank you guys for making my bussiness expandable in such a manor. I have vendors all over now and was too tapped for time to update them all before so i simply did not put them out. Your vendor system has allowed me to put them all out and keep them updated from the web. I thank you for this.

There's this wonderful new invention called an Instant Message. They let you communicate with people individually rather than trying to randomly catch their eye on a forum. Try it out sometime.

Thanks for your help though.

billy, i'm always glad to see public recognition of others hard work. thanks for sharing this gratitude publicly!
i think it would be great to be able to show commendations for others work! AND you've done it with etiquette, asking first is always a welcome way to approach anything.
so, more power to ya'... and to Adam & Nexus!

Please do not post threads addressing individual residents on the forums, utilize other more appropriate forms of communication (instant messages or in-world chat).

From: Moopf Murray Oh wow, this is pretty ridiculous I have to say. Don't you have anything better to do? Billy Madison, From time to time we find we need to take disciplinary action on the Second Life Forums, when someone is determined after careful review to have violated either the Second Life Community Standards of the Terms of Service. In this case we have found your recent posts violated the Community Standards sections regarding Harassment, Verbal Abuse which has been pasted below for your reference. Violation Harassment, Verbal Abuse Communicating with another Resident using offensively coarse, intimidating or threatening language, or in any other manner that is unwanted or likely to cause annoyance or alarm is a violation of Second Life’s Community Standards. Personal attacks and inflammatory statements, in this thread: /120/ef/35198/1.htmlAlso, your recent posts show further abuse of the forums as a personal messaging tool, as in the following thread: /120/7a/35213/1.htmlThe rules of conduct are interpreted with the broadest meaning possible. Discipline As you have been warned about both activities in the past, you have been suspended from the forums for three (3) days. While we understand that some violations of the Community Standards may be unintentional or inadvertent, every Second Life Resident is responsible for ensuring that their actions do not disrupt the lives of their fellow Residents. While first offenders will generally receive a simple warning, violations of Community Standards and/or Terms of Service may result in temporary suspension from the community. Repeated violations will result in permanent banning. Recourse If you believe that this notice has been sent in error, or that the details of this incident have not been adequately examined, please address your concerns in an email to abuse-manager@lindenlab.com Sincerely, Linden Lab Linden Lab 577 Second Street, Suite 200 San Francisco, CA 94107 Phone 415.243.9000 Fax 415.243.9045 www.secondlife.comYou be the judge.. Public thank you's are no longer welcome.. Im compiling a list of every thank you thread so jeska will be able to enforce this new rule completely.

From: Moopf Murray Oh wow, this is pretty ridiculous I have to say. Don't you have anything better to do? I'm agreeing with Jeska. This thread is a request for permission to hold an event, not a public thank you or anything. This is a privte communication. Now, if the thread were about when the event was, or just a plain public thank you, then it'd be fine. But this thread is entirely a question.

Why clutter the forums? Why not post all questions/comments in one thread?

But I take it we're not allowed to mention people's names good or bad now? I mean, that's just ever so slightly bizarre in a forum for an online community. What? I think either the person who gave Jeska the rules or Jeska herself has lost the plot a bit here.

Well I'm starting to wonder if we're all in violation of these rules by having our own names next to our posts. I mean isn't that naming someone?

the first example given is understandable, but this thread?
i'm sorry to see actions taken against a thread started to say, "thank you".. yes, it's directed at particular SLers who are named in the original post, but... argh...
while rules are rules and they must be followed to ensure future cohesion, there are also clear exceptions. this is not inflammatory or derogatory. this thread is a public show of gratitude.
i'm sorry to see such expressions are no longer welcome.
here's a legitimate question: what if this thread had been, "regarding superior vending builds and my appreciation thereof" with the body explaining an appreciation for a product which merely mentioned the creators to give credit where credit is due?
or would this still fall under abuse?

Maybe I misinterpereted what the last name Linden means but....I always thought it meant the person worked for Linden Labs....that in turn would mean that Jeska is just DOING HER JOB. Moopf, how would you like it if I came to your place of employ and starting telling you that what you were doing was pathetic? You probably wouldn't like it, would you? Have any of you people that seem so fond of insulting her taken into account that MAYBE what she does here is no reflection whatsoever of her personal opinion, and that she is just posting these things so she can get her next paycheck?
