And if you do, you may also want to look at this as something else to do with your time:

http://www.mcdonalds.com/corp/career.html

It will definitely pay better.

I find that rude and a very big insult. I am simply wondering how much these people are making. Im not looking to start doing this i just want to know what "pennys a day" equals when they are rapeing 10-15 trees in a few minutes. Take your rude comments elsewhere and if you didnt make this scam i wouldnt have to be testing its integrity. Rude Rude Rude, mcdonalds.. pfft why would i want to work with you?

the highest amounts i ever see on my pick list are mid-thirties. when names start repeating, they're typically walking away with five lindens or less. that's just my own observation with my own bush.

Don't be an (edited) billy. You think you should take it on yourself to 'investigate' money trees by ACTUALLY scamming them? (edited)

(edited) I'll deal with my own money tree and how it's managed thanks. We don't need your latest drama shit.

i cannot tell people to remove them, I am just curious as to how much is being scammed and if its even worth putting it out and how many people are actually useing them. I notice you mention a convo with me and hiro that just goes to show that you are in everyones bussiness. You crave drama otherwise you would just skip over post like that. Your intentions are quite evident, one minute you are on someones side the next your not.. you dont care as long as drama is created. Love you kris!

My parents fought like that a lot. When I was younger I used to think they were really mad at one another and would run to my room. As I got older I began to realize that, for them, all that arguing and fighting was really their own very strange way of paying attention to one another.

Just an observation, not saying anything about you Billy or Kris, just an observation I am making.

Just to put this to rest once and for all - here is the math:

Approximately 30 trees right now
Generating L$2,160 / day in stipends
Possibly generating an additional L$7,920 / day in donation payouts

Total L$10,080 / day at the absolute maximum

Lets say somebody wants to dedicate 16 hours of their day to running from tree to tree picking the maximum of L$25 per alt. av. Lets also assume they have 5 alts to beat the 'Last 5 recipients' limit. So now they have to logout/login after each circuit of 30 teleports.

First, you have to understand that there will be real newbies competing with our potential hacker. So they won't be able to gather all of the lindens. Let's assume they get 50% at best.

We also have to take into account those owners that blacklist repetitive alts. So lets say that blocks an additional 25% of potential payouts. This percentage would definitely grow over time as more owners block the hacker. This would necessitate creating new alts and incurring US$9.95 each time. If they decide to only use the 7 day trial account, they would ultimately be limited by the number of credit cards they have since trial accounts have a 're-trial' time limit for each credit card.

Now our hacker is garnering 25% of all tree payouts at best.

The trees spawn every 20 minutes and the timer is based upon when the tree was rezzed. So it is impossible to be at every tree when it spawns.

L$10,080 * 25% = L$2,520 / day

Lets use the current GOM exchange rate of US$4.00 / 1000 lindens.

That adds up to US$10.08 / day.

Or in other terms our hacker is spending 16 hours a day teleporting to 30 different locations then logging out / logging in another alt and repeating the cycle.

Our hacker is working a 16 hour day for US$0.63 / hour.

Our hacker also spent a minimum of U$49.75 on his accounts which he needs to earn back. That will take him 79 hours just to reach break even.

I really hope this puts this to rest. If you don't want to own a tree - fine. If you do - fine. If you just want to debate the merits of the idea - fine.

But, don't put it down because a few people might abuse the system to make 1/10 of minimum wage. And definitely don't put it down because the local forum troll has nothing else to do today.

Saphire im not putting down your tree. I think its cute. Im simply stating that it might be doing more harm then good. I dont think i would want to give away any money to alt accounts period. If i wanted to help a newbie i would give him some notecards on how to make things or how to get a job in sl i think that would help them more in the long run then giving them a few linden daily.. it stiffles their creativity.. why would you build something when your too busy running from tree to tree to get "pennys"? It just seems like to me its a way of foster people to stay under the wing for too long so to speak. They have to get out and start developing some time and i think that giving them information or assisting them in starting a bussiness is a much greater and much longer of a payout then the trees. You will not i have furnished the money for alot of the newbies to start their bussiness.. of course i have been burnt a few times just like people with the trees are being burnt but i think i have helped them learn something more than a tree dropping "pennys" could.
