Why Am I suspended?

I've just gone to sign in and I'm suspended untill the 3rd, I havn't even logged on sicne yesterday, whats going on?

You can't ask that here. Seriously.

Oh, and the Lindens won't tell you either, even if you spoke to them directly.

So suck it up and learn from whatever it is that you don't know you did and don't do it again.

Ok. He can ask. But no one is gonna be able to tell him

And as soon as he says 'but I havent done anything...' it'll be construed as an appeal.

Well right now all he can really say is he didn't know what he did. When he says I didn't do it or please help me then we need to call in the dogs...but then there is the fact that we are discussing the issue and that could outweigh any plea as long as he doesn't plea a lot, too long, or too hard.

Did you email support? And what was the message you got on trying to log in? I wasnt aware that it actually told you in the client that you were suspended and the period?

We don't know why you're suspended. We can't help you. We don't know if you're right or wrong, or if/how you violated the ToS. There's nothing we can do, please don't post these questions here.

You know I can understand keeping real life identies secret. But to keep appeals for suspension secret is is is I better bite my tongue before I get suspended for making inteligent commentary.

Some people have reported that the SL mailer (or ISP or IP address range) is either blocked as a spam originator or is regularly shifted to "spam" boxes by public mail accounts.

That is not to say that SL is a spammer, just that they have accidentally been blacklisted by some services. It is also possible that they didn't send you mail, but like Kris said, whatever it was that you don't know you were doing, please stop.

And given the length of time it takes for support to respond to anything, I can understand the frustration. Especially if they haven't even done him the courtesy of notifying him by email.

I thought he could ask and we could answer but he couldn't make appeals?

Mybe there should be public executions...then we would all know whats goin on.

They probably can't tell him why via email because they have to investigate..and without evidence..accusations could possibly result in law suits..they probably take precausion regarding disclosure.

I hope not. Because I would be even more pissed at being suspended in a 'guilty til proven innocent' style pre-suspension investigation than I would about something they actually perceived that I did wrong, even if I didnt agree.

Hmmm so Punish first, Investigate and then if wrong just dont say jack and leave em wondering...Hmmm interesting.

Glad Real life isnt like that. Least in a Court you know why your spending 40 odd years in jail even if they make a mistake in the judicial process.

If they can't tell him by email because they're investigating - why is he suspended. Do you have that little thing called innocent until proven guilty in the US? I wonder.

Take teeth off tongue again ...In all honesty the moment he asked Why was the start of an appeal....kinda like a kid going "but Why? daddy!!"

Better yet who does the appeal have to be directed to for it to get the thread closed. Is it an appeal to forum members or an appeal on the forum to the Lindens?

That's not an appeal, it's an enquiry for information. 'But I'll be a good boy','I didn't mean it','Sorry, I won't do it again' - they're appeals. 'Why am I suspended?' is just an enquiry for information. There is a huge difference that either LL don't understand or that Jeska choses to ignore in interpretation.

there's no chance of a viable lawsuit. we're clearly told that ll can cancel our account at any time for no reason at all. they don't have to prove anything.

Well..depending on the strength of the evidence..if it's pure speculation I see your point..but many are put under arrest before actual trial and judgement/sentencing are placed and evidence is presented in a Court of Law.

Well I think all this really proves, though it doesn't help the original poster much, is that Linden policy is as clear as mud.

And frankly, keep quoting the same bit of the ToS doesn't make it any clearer when it all comes down to individual interpretation and application of that wording, which is the main source of the Lindens inconsistencies in dealing with stuff in general.

This isnt RL and I pay more for the privilege and right to live my Second Life than I do my real one
