Are There Any Good Women in SL?

I'm good. Of course, it would be undignified if someone my age acted otherwise.

Just a question, blaze: how on earth can you tell the difference?

I am a woman in rl, but I do not fit the 'stereotypical' female gender role: I can use a Skil Saw, I like baseball (well, live games--not televised), I place great store in my professional life, I hate shopping. Do these qualities make me any less womanly or female?

Interestingly, in SL, female AVies are often hyper-feminine. They, often but not always, reflect an extreme version of what western culture aesthetically asks/demands of women. Could it be that you experience a "jarring" when your expectations (ie "She is a seeexxxy Avie.";) do not match your experiences ("Wow, she is really forward and outspoken";)?
I would not label such mismatching of expectations as "chauvinist" per se; rather I would claim such thwarting of expectation and the frustration that results is "human."

Are there good women in SL? No doubt. Are they what you might expect? It is unlikely.

True. People are never archetypes.

The beauty of the modern age, and I think it was Byron who said this, is that we can be who we want to be. And that includes - masculine or feminine.

Are there any good men? Are there any good women? Who cares.

The question really should be -- are there any good Alts?

What is "good"? The way I've seen it defined here, and the other "alt" thread, is "he/she is good for me."

Bleh.

Well, relative to the cosmos, I'd have a hard time defining good since, well, I'm not the cosmos.

However, relative to me, good is someone who bends all the rules (especially the social ones) but breaks none of them.

Hmmm. You're star debris, temporarily organized in an interesting way, functioning for but a moment amidst the wreckage of a colossal breaking of cosmic symmetry.

So.... OK. Fair enough.

I'm not a good woman at all - I don't even own any hoochie hair or spike-heeled shoes. I barely qualify, I think. I am just.... an entity.

The question has to be asked.

My short answer - yes, there are good women in SL, women who are honest and know what they want and what's important and are short on drama.

Yeah, my girlfriend is good.... damn good. But when she's bad she's better !!! :)

I can be a good woman - for a moderate fee....

For love is where you find it, wherever that may be... for me it was in Stillman with a better than than me, her husky voice seduced me.. my heart was in a mess - I put my hand upon her knee and something twiched b'neath her dress..

Siggy.

Siggy, I knew there was a reason I liked you. Now it suddenly dawned on me ... you're sick. Just like me.
