It actually does not fully meet the legal definiton of parody, however, as she used unrelated copyrighted works in her parody of the subject. Only the work of the person or thing being parodied is protected. The images she used do not fall under that protection - had she used Snapzilla images, that would be different. As Catherine has been quite outspoken about copyright infringement, it is a bit hypocritical to steal the work of others who have nothing to do with any of this to use it in her parody. Oh, well. Maybe if I'm lucky at the end of this she'll storm off and leave SL again for a while so I can really get some distance on her.  ~Ulrika~ _____________________

As I said, I have no problem with her parody. The childishness of it speaks more to Catherine's so-called adult behavior than it does anything else. What people were bothered by was her use of other people's names unassociated with it, who wanted no part of it. It actually does not fully meet the legal definiton of parody, however, as she used unrelated copyrighted works in her parody of the subject. Sorry I'm late to the party. So, it appears that Catherine's true motive is to lash out at Cristiano by attacking his website and then use the defense that her site is just a parody that's all in good fun. What's sad is that she devoted all that time to creating something so hateful. There's something delicious about it yet at the same time I truly pity her. OK. Still Cristiano, it's not your place to enforce the copyright of the other image owners on the site. If she didn't rip of anything of yours, you have no place to contact her ISP. By the sound of it, she hasn't ripped of anything of Snapzilla's except the basic layout, which is the hallmark of all website parodies. The pictures she uses for the poop theme are obviously humorous images from around the net, and like most photos of that type are created for the sole purpose of getting a laugh -- cheap laugh in this case -- and for being spread around. I've seen many of them at ircimages.com. Except for the one from www.flexiblemolds.com, but I would like everyone to know that image actually led to a purchase by myself from the store. Not the poop mold, but some molds for my wife to use in her crafting. Personally, I think the funniest part of the whole site is the link to Join Second Life Now -- which links to a man wearing fake breasts, which after bing in Second Life over a year now, pretty much sums it up, with a few exceptions here and there. _____________________
