Sorry Cat, I find this little stunt pathetic and disgusting. Cris put alot of his time and effort into Snapzilla and it's disingenuous to claim paraody. It's an attack.

I'm sorry you dont get the humor in the Crapzilla but I honestly don't think that a kid seeing that site would harm them. Especialy since the only link to that site is in these boards. There is no link from the main web to it. So only those who are over 18 can view it, from these forums. If by some chance some kid somewhere in the world stumbles across it by some needle in the hay stack means I still don't think its doing any harm.

I am pretty sure they would see a ton of "crap" of web sites before they reach mine. I did not list it with any web search engines. It's a parody. No I'm not removing it.

As for child molesters and such I realy don't see your connection in this context.

Look guys it's a joke, a parody if you don't like it that's your right. I have no problem with that what so ever. Let's not go too overboard or every picture of pie will suddenly be called into question. You all want to be that serious, you go right ahead, I say live and let live.

Parody, while a protected form of use, doesn't necessarily need to be in good taste, nor have to be funny. In this case, it's my opinion it's neither, as it appears to be childish, tasteless and clearly has a vindictive motive behind it.

But, that's why parody usually needs legal protections, it's almost never going to be impressing the subject of the parody.

Then again....this particular one tells me more about the personality of the site owner than it does the snapzilla site. I honestly doubt his reputation is being sullied by this trite.

May not be my definition of funny, but it meets the definition of parody, which isn't wrong. Some people can take it, some people can't I guess.

And the claim that she ripped off the site's "code", don't think so... all the links are dead, the dropdowns don't work-- it's a dummy page with no interactivity. Hardly a ripoff of code.

For being such a liberal community, I'm surprised at the reaction this kind of stuff generates. Liberals usully like a good roast.

I think if you ever did say that, you wouldn't be getting these sorts of comments. But you don't. You, instead, say "I'm being attacked! I'm being picked on! I'm being made fun of! Why does this cruel world mock me so!? I'm an innocent victim against a campaign of evil against me!" And then you turn around and do things like the red-neck barbie, and crapzilla, and you expect people to think you have a sense of humor about it all. You only seem to have a sense of humor about things when it isn't you on the receiving end.

If Cristiano had done up a web site specifically designed to mock you, you'd be screaming bloody murder and screaching like a harpie that you were reporting it.

Try to remember your "live and let live" attitude the next time you feel yourself to be the recipient of mockery.

There is a big difference between being called a whore, a racist, a member of the KKK, mentaly ill, and making a mock parody site.

I am using humor to lighten the mood here. You don't get it, thats ok I have no problem with that. I will however say that this was made for fun and no other reason. I guess there is the difference between them and me. Have a good one ok.

As I said, I have no problem with her parody. The childishness of it speaks more to Catherine's so-called adult behavior than it does anything else. What people were bothered by was her use of other people's names unassociated with it, who wanted no part of it.

It actually does not fully meet the legal definiton of parody, however, as she used unrelated copyrighted works in her parody of the subject. Only the work of the person or thing being parodied is protected. The images she used do not fall under that protection - had she used Snapzilla images, that would be different. As Catherine has been quite outspoken about copyright infringement, it is a bit hypocritical to steal the work of others who have nothing to do with any of this to use it in her parody.
