The first name was that of an old roleplay character, the latter I picked mostly for the allusion to Dr. Moreau, which fit with what the character had done(animal/people experiments on an island). Plus, it was the surname of the person who got me into SL in the first place, Satu. ^.^

I'm actually glad that I haven't seen a Tesla surname in SL. It would be really depressing if I got a pm from Nikola Tesla saying, "How r u? Your weird. WaNa cyber" There *are* Tesla surnames now. (Of course, you didn't say there weren't; you merely said you'd not seen one; so perhaps this is no news at all?) And but what if you got a PM from some re-embodied haint of the actual Nikola? He'd be all like, "Pardon me, sir, but could you be of assistance in the construction of a pigeon avatar?" and wanting to talk your ears off about his dead brother. My own name was chosen because 1) I knew someone, years ago, who knew someone who was named Memory --- this was IRL --- and I've always thought it a beautiful and evocative name, and so here was an opportunity to take it for my own, in a realm predicated on computer "memory," and so what else could I do? And 2) I thought Harker went best with Memory: if I live my Second Life with sufficient grace and joy, I reckon I'll be a worthwhile Memory Harker after all. |

I chose my name because Elikapeka is the Hawaiian translation of my actual name...and Tiramisu...well because ummm I saw it in the list of last names and I love tiramisu.

I go by Moss irl, but was thrilled to see the Talamasca surname. Anne Rice's novels have always been a huge source of enjoyment for me, and about the only thread tying them all together is a secret society called the Talamasca. If there was one irl, i would most certainly want to be a part of it.

Originally when I started in July 2003 I chose Song as a surname (KatyKiwi Song,) but later I created a new account using Moonflower because it just sounded like a dreamy fairy tale fantasy _____________________
