Hi Calranthe, you say you're into roleplay. Well if you are, why would you even consider someone joining more than one Vampire family a posibility. You do know you can only be turned once right?.
I mean you can't get turned then think "Ohhhhhhh, I really like this other family". Then get returned to human form and turned all over again by the head of another family. Getting turned is a one way ticket.
Really the only option is to leave the family you're a member of, and then wander the world as a lone vampire without a family. However this is only a video game and ppl have to be able to enjoy themselves, they may develop friendships and relationships with ppl from other families.
So nobodies really gonna flame someone for deciding to move, but Obscuro obviously has to draw the line somewhere, and the 'one family only rule' is where he's drawn it. Sounds fair to me, and everyone's told that rule when they enquire about joining and again Obscuro will ask you if you if you will abide by that rule just before he turns you.
I wish you good luck with your own Vampire family and hope to see you grow. I'm just sorry that you got off on such a bad start with Transylvanian after only a few days in game.

Calranthe, First off, Calranthe, best get the facts about a group before trashing them in the forum! I have been long friends with Obs almost since i started SL, and have been a part of the Vamp Family also. You cant judge a group of people, or that person, by one bad thing! Obscuro is a very nice and gentle person. He cares for all. Specially his family! I AM DAMN PROUD TO BE A PART OF THAT FAMILY! they are more my family then my real life family sometimes! Hmmm, ok first I'll admit it. I am a Transylvania Vampyr and may I say proud to be one. Those of Transylvania (lovingly referred to hereafter as "T-Town"  are a group of friends sharing common goals/fun. It has not been my experience nor have I heard of us behaving in a less than cordial manner to those who act with the same degree of maturity.As for Obscuro... so he roleplays a vamp lord? so he is a little protective of his sim and his family? Umm, is that any reason to come to the forums and bash him personally? Besides being a direct violation of TOS - it is downright rude! Oh wait, I know...how's that go? I visited Trans sim for the first the other night and thought it was a great build! I loved the shops and looking at my dead friend....errr I meant dear friend Syd's grave stone marker. The club was hopping with people, and I saw a lot of friendly familiar faces including Wenchie. I look forward to another shopping visit!

Calranthe may have totally made this up, and all this is almost surely a big ol' chunka drahma that needs flushing.... But I to agree with the point that the line for In Character and Out Of Character in roleplay needs to be clearly defined. If someone is not playing the game, a roleplayer shouldn't act as if they are. I speak from experience: I've seen Live Action roleplayers (playing Vampires, as a matter of fact) be abusive to people around them who were not playing....getting too caught up in the role. Again, I don't believe Obscuro said what was alleged, just from what I've seen. But that doesn't make the moral of this 'story' any less valid. _____________________
