Clearly, by having their premeetings during hours which are not suitable for Europeans the RAC is trying to exclude them.

I'd like to know where Philip gets off meeting with this clique group that is trying to keep europeans from having any influence whatsoever about what LL is doing!!

(Hmmm.. Anshe is european.. interesting..)

Blaze, did it ever occur to you that every meeting has to occur at some specific time? If meetings were scheduled only during hours that were convenient for those in Europe, then I and many other North American members would be screaming discrimination, not to mention those in Japan and other parts of Asia.

However, perhaps there could be a scheduling policy instituted that would allow for meeting times to be rotated so that they would be convenient for members from all parts of the globe.

Pheonix,

Don't waste your time. Blaze only has one interest on these forums, that is to say whatever it takes to ruffle feathers and derail a thread. Look on the MJW threads, he praises it in one, slams it in another. Totally different views posted with in minutes of each other. If you answer him he will just keep responding back. Many of us do not want that.

Yeah, whatever you do, don't be for and against an idea. Your brain might explode and boy that'd be messy.

Bah.

Sadly, I live in Michigan, not in one of the enlightened Socialist paradises of Europe, so I can't be online at 5 AM to cater to them... But they are more than welcome to set up parallel meetings! The concept and group is open to everyone.

PS -- Due to a Linden database screwup, I can't have the meeting at the Waterhead Conference rooms (it won't show up in my events place listing). So, It's going to be in Grignano. All dwell (along with some other money) will be donated to an in-world charity.

Hope to see you there! Sunday at 5 PM PST.

What a character you are! And such respect you show for other countries than your own.
From: Community Standards
Intolerance: Combating intolerance is a cornerstone of Second Life's Community Standards. Actions that marginalize, belittle, or defame individuals or groups inhibit the satisfying exchange of ideas and diminish the Second Life community as whole. The use of derogatory or demeaning language or images in reference to another Resident's race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation is never allowed in Second Life.
Keep at it LF, and you might just get the Prok treatment from LL too. I can see from the Police Blotter that this issue has already led to 1 ban and 6 formal warnings. A couple more bans, and we might just be able to discuss this topic without being belittled, or told to go fuck ourselves (as you stated again and again in an earlier post). If you are you unable to discuss in a civilized manner, you will have more AR's coming.
Btw, my country has a conservative, right wing government, even if it is in Europe. :o Get your facts straight before you start stomping on a large part of the population.

Ignoring your reportable slur on all Europeans, all you had to do was schedule the meeting for 2 or 3 hours earlier and you could have included all of Europe as well.

I accept there is no single time that is good for everyone on the planet, but you chose the single time that is good for just one country, yours.

Further, having had this pointed out to you, your response is not to appologise or adjust the start time by a couple of hours, but instead you attempt to demeen the entire population of Europe.

I won't be able to come to the meeting as I have to be at work on Monday morning and your set time is to late for me. But I know I'm not missing anything as you're making it quite clear what the polocies of your group are all about.

Has it perhaps occured to you that I set it at the later time because that's the only time I can attend on a regular basis? I'm working prior to that. The only reliable time I have off (without homework or my job) is after 5 PM on a Sunday.

You forgot Mexico, Panama, Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Venezuela, Peru, Paraguay, Chile, Brazil, Guinea, Colombia, and a score of other countries.

Also, I certainly hope that all of YOUR events are balanced on the precipitous ledge of all-inclusion. Who's going to think of the Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Australian players too? What is a good time for them?

Yes, in fact, the first agenda is to plan the invasion of Europe to institute a mandatory "My Time" policy. I'm polishing my marching boots now.

Again, how is this an insult? I had no idea "paradise" had such negative connotations.

Do you have quotes, or are you just going to insinuate? Don't try to derail this thread into your dislike of me. If you have an issue with me, send me a PM.

Again, I don't see how calling Europe a socialist paradise is a bad thing. You folks, more often than not, have universal health care, better infrastructure, better architecture, more varied political environment, a longer history, better city planning, much better public transit, and don't get quagmired in imperialist invasions of other countries.

What's the issue?

From: someone

Btw, my country has a conservative, right wing government, even if it is in Europe. :o Get your facts straight before you start stomping on a large part of the population.

From my readings of political commentary, the American parties are almost always more right-wing than the majority of Europe's right-wing parties. Often to the point of being 50-60 years behind you guys. When was the last time we had a woman president, or a black president? Workable universal health care? Decent pensions? Free education for college students? Hint: we haven't.

But I digress, I'll make sure to excise any further discussion on Europe, compliments or not, from any further communications. Wouldn't want to step my marching boots all over an entire disenfranchised population...

Personally, I don't think sarcasm is called for by a request from the Europeans to be included in this first meeting or future meetings. It seems to be a scheduling problem with your work hours and the times you've called for the meeting to begin.

In the future, since you are the originator of these meetings, it would be wise to look at your own work schedule and schedule the meetings around the days that you do not have to work at 2:00 p.m.

Lack of foresight on your part does not mean sarcasm to those who truly want to participate. This is your brainchild, this is your baby. If you want to be taken seriously by all members of SL, it is up to your, ahem, leadership to make sure that everyone is included and does NOT feel excluded or insulted.

Then again, maybe this will be meltdown part deux with these types of attitudes and responses to a simple request.

I'd like to take this time to apologize for whatever slight I shot at the Europeans with my original statement. I still don't get it, but then I'm just a dumb American.

Yet another reason for folks to set up alternative meeting times.

Again, reliably, the only time I can do this is Sundays at 5 PM. Prior to this I have personal matters to attend to after work. The rest of the week is booked solid until the weekend, where I work later than this.

The beauty of my idea is that I don't have to be leading the calvary charge up to the Lindens' doorsteps. Anyone can assemble a group of people, discuss issues, log it, and mail them off to the Lindens for a response. I'm just using my trumpeting tactics to drum up support so people actually start attending.

Perhaps. Let's hope not.

I'm going to work now. I imagine when I get home there will be 40 more posts calling for my head on a stick, but whatever.

See you at the meetings.
