Adam Zaius just created this brand new website! It will allow you to create your own SL Blog within seconds! It's really nice so far, but things are just revving up!!!1 I reccomend that everyone join this new community of SL Bloggers, because a lot of Second Life is about the community!
On the software side, it's using Drupal which has been compared to the popular Movable Type blogging software.. It's very easy to use, so don't fear any awful setups or overly confusing interfaces !

Heh, I'm taking feature suggestions for SLBlogger at the moment, just leave a comment here , and I'll check it periodically to see what needs to be improved.
Edit: I do have a few things planned, the big ones at the moment are: - Macromedia Flash output, so you can view blogs inworld via QuickTime-on-prims - Inworld blogging support -Adam _____________________

What it needs is a utility to convert something like:
Mooaleo (85, 219) <---> secondlife://Mooaleo/85/219 instantly back and forth. AND a way to easily and even perhaps automatically hyperlink simname and coordinates when it sees 'em. So when you type: Last night, I went to AetherStyle @ Grange (155, 53) and it turns it into Last night, I went to AetherStyle @ Grange (155, 53) I've been looking for something like that for awhile. _____________________

That's quite doable, but I'll work with it slightly.
Instead of it picking up Aleph (128,12  , I'm going to make a new 'tag' like so:[sl:aleph,128,128] It will also only show up when you save the page. I'll bump the thread when I'm done. -Adam _____________________

I think SL Blogger will offer a lot of functionality to the SL blogging community without too much technical effort.. That's what adam is for!!! Edit: Damn adam is fast. Edit 2: I see that not as many people are signing up as have visited.. You don't need to blog just because you signed up.. You can just leave comments and stuff if you want ;0 _____________________

There is no reason not to join! You're not forced to blog, but it certainly makes it easy if you wanted to and some of the features are nice like the news agregator for viewing updates to other blogs like the Linden blogs and whatnot ;0

Will he be using the Linden-based TOS as a guideline for these blogs or just let anything go? What is the privacy policy for this new blogging system? Will Adam be storing all the content of all the blogs and all the answers on his own central server so as to keep dossiers on everybody and anybody, searchable at will? Has Adam entered into a partnership with Linden Labs with this project -- it sounds exactly like one Robin Linden herself proposed for the community to be run by LL a few months ago. _____________________

Will he be using the Linden-based TOS as a guideline for these blogs or just let anything go? Anything goes, just as long as it's not spam, or anything which is likely to get me sued for hosting it. What is the privacy policy for this new blogging system? None listed, but there isnt any personal info either. Any information you choose to give or upload is going to be public. Will Adam be storing all the content of all the blogs and all the answers on his own central server so as to keep dossiers on everybody and anybody, searchable at will? The system is centralised, yes; but anyone is capable of searching it. There's nothing private only I or the other admins can access. Has Adam entered into a partnership with Linden Labs with this project -- it sounds exactly like one Robin Linden herself proposed for the community to be run by LL a few months ago. I did poke a Linden about it before, Robin's post was more of an inspiration to do something than anything else. -Adam _____________________

I've asked Adam about the specifics, so hopefully he should get back to me or post here at some point. _____________________

So you're going to evade responsibility for a privacy policy by being the clearinghouse of blogs, the Blog of Blogs and devolve this responsibility back to the individual blog host? Obviously the issue isn't what someone uploads *on their own* where they can decide what to put or not put about their SL or RL. I'm talking about what *other people* write, i.e. in their commentary on others in which they may "out" the RL, misportray or libel a RL or a SL, or blog something that is private about someone in SL. This is down all the time. Blogs are scarcely different than sixth-grade slambooks. I notice you have evaded my question about the Linden TOS. Will you or will you not abide by the TOS, which contains language about non-disclosure of RL information? You talked about a "front page". So you see yourself as editor of the blogs, picking and chosing what content will go on the front page? How much of the front page, if any, will be devoted to advertising your own in-game goods and searches, i.e. GIGAS mall, Azura islands, etc.? _____________________

As the site does not ask for any RL infomation, Any infomation like that will come from posters, and will no doubt be removed on legal request.

The system doesnt require any control on my part - the frontpage is generated automatically from new content added. If someone wants to slander/libel another SL resident in a purely SL enviroment that doesnt have any legal implications for the host, then no, I'm not going to deal with it. I will not be enforcing the linden TOS over content people choose to submit unless I am requested to by a linden themselves. If you write something and upload it, I am not going to touch it. End of story. The front page is automatically generated, I dont do any editing, however I may remove a piece of content from the frontpage if it is overly offensive, but this is at my discretion, and a power I dont plan on using in anything but the most dire of circumstances. The site is being operated non-profit, there is a 'Sponsored by SecondServer.net' link at the top, and a SecondLife join/refferal, however unless the service costs significant RL$ to operate, then I will not be placing any advertising over the content. (Operating costs have yet to be guaged, if they turn out to be high, then I plan on placing google text advertisements at the bottom of the navigation bar) _____________________
