From: Vince Wolfe I mean we know that they are politicians and, like pigs, will run whichever direction the slop is thrown. Is that the latest doublespeak for having some flexibility and being able to adapt, rather than marching in lockstep to some rigid dogma? If that's the case, it might be prudent to reexamine McCain. He has a disturbing tendency to think and act independently, and sometimes changes his mind in view of changing circumstances (aka "flip-flopping" or "mixed messages"... or don't those terms apply?).

But John McCain is a traitor... didn't you hear their claque in 2000? Of course, he'll be a patriot next election if he wins the nomination. I love John McCain, but the Republican Party is a noose around his neck which tightens whenever he tries to be a human being.

He has a disturbing tendency to think and act independently, and sometimes changes his mind in view of changing circumstances (aka "flip-flopping" or "mixed messages"... or don't those terms apply?). I suppose it could called that. It's the flexibility to be whatever you want the voters to percieve you as and the ability to adapt to whatever dogma you need to put forth in order to get money and someone's vote. After all, you can always pursue your agenda once you are actually IN power, but until then you need to appeal to as many as possible while still courting the special interests so that you can keep those dollars rolling in. I tend to be rather cynical about politics in general. It more about egos, photo ops, and personal power than about much in the way of improvement or change. In my opinion, the higher you get, in political office, the more deals with the devil you have made to get there. Most probably started out wanting to change and improve the country, but the way to do that is to be on commitees and to get into the powerful inner circles. Of course, the most common way to get there is to support those in power on what they want supported. That's how you get into a position to have an impact, but the process requires so many sell outs, compromises, ideal sacrificing that they are hardly the same person once they get there. It's hard to make many independant moves with that many strings tied to you. So I stand by my original statement. Politicians, like pigs, will head whichever direction the slop is thrown..... And it not just one party, they both do it.
