I asked my wife the same thing. She said, “I don't think I would be wanting that after 5 hours. I would take a nap with him gagged. Pretty but a little zealous for me.”

haha well I think if I had to sit and listen for 5 hours then I would turn on my mother hearing. After having 3 girls and the constant bickering they do, I can tune out almost anything. Or I would go to sleep and just tell him I will be meditating so I can let his words flow through me.

My impression after watching him on The Today show was that I tended to agree in principle with alot of what Cruise was saying, just not how and why he was saying it. When an estimated %80 of people who seek help from mental heath professionals exit the office with a prescription...there has to be a trend going on. Don't get me wrong, I totally believe in the power of some drugs to help people with their issues, I just think maybe it's becoming a money maker for the Doctors and Pharmicists to just push Zanex on every bored housewife who complains that she is stressed....

Now on to Cruise, O..M..G.....Mickey Rooney, Marlon Brando, and Steve McQueen combined do not have the sheer mass of ego shown by Cruise. Jeez...the scary psychotic stare, discounting everyone else's life experiences and hyper inflating his own "education"..., the eye bags that grew %200 larger as he grew more angry....and the Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt.
I used to tolerate this guy, his movies were bearable (typically, the productions were excellent, he always seemed interchangeable with any good looking actor out there), but now...move over Baretta!
Wanna be rich, famous, and aloof: Study Johnny Depp
Wanna be a fruitcake bent on converting members to your money driven, self-help promoting, philosophical organization (IMHO, Cult) : Tom Cruise

Side note: Seen Nicole Kidman lately? At twice the age (she's like 55 right?) she smokes that Dawson's creek girl in the looks department (prolly acting as well...who knows, I havent seen Batman yet...and won't see Bewitched)

I second that. Oh, and am I the only one that thinks Tom Cruise is a deeply-closeted homosexual? And no, I wouldn't want to do him - I find him intolerable and that kills what sex appeal he may have.

Actually, 80% of people leaving mental health professionals' offices don't do so with prescriptions. That statistic is way off. It's a misconception that therapists can prescribe. Most can't, they have to refer out for that. Psychiatrists are increasingly narrowing the range of who they will see due to it being such a high liability practice, and many family doctors are referring to psychiatrists and totally unwilling to write prescriptions themselves. The tragic thing is that Tom Cruise has a media platform for views that don't have any basis in reality- ie, calling psychiatrists drug dealers. This type of sensational press is exactly the sort of thing that scares a legimately depressed person who is vulnerable to Tom's notoriety and who thinks him an expert for this reason on things he isn't. Brooke Shields came out publicly and said he should stick to topics he understands. I agree. One of his other interviews said a kid with ADHD can be cured by high potency vitamins. Yeesh. What Tom doesn't get is that his adding to stereotypes about mental health care is hurting thousands of vulnerable people. It's hard enough for people to get good care without him telling them not to bother.

Personally I think Tom is having a very public, very manic episode. And is a few sandwiches short of a picnic himself. Yanno, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones  Some of the right medication might be able to help him with that ;)

She is snatched pretty tight just to be 38.

I think Tom would be a happier person if he just admitted he was gay and went on with his life.

Why do you think he is homosexual? You must know that it is most human to be attracted to the same sex at some point in your life, don’t get me wrong this does not mean that your gay if you do and there’s nothing wrong with being gay.

By the way I don’t think he is gay. I’d do him to…lol

I can not understand the appeal of Tom Cruise at all. He always has the weirdest looks on his face like he is constipated. I have yet to ever met a person that finds him attractive. Luckily all my friends have good taste :)

A few days before the Today Show freak out he had another episode. He was doing interviews and one of the interviewers was a prankster and squirted him with water from a fake microphone. As soon as it happened, Cruise smiled and it looked like he was a good sport about it. But, almost instantly, the delirium kicked in and he began berating the guy and calling him a nasty jerk. The guy was ultimately arrested and taken away. It was a really strange thing to see. He is losing it. I think we probably see something in the news even freakier (or scarier) from Cruise in the future.

I've heard TONS of rumors about him - which does not prove anything, but where there's smoke....

This is not just a rumor here or one there - they are all over the place. It wouldn't be the first time the Hollywood machine covered up a sexy leading man's sexuality to save the 'image'.

"Matt, Matt, you don't even -- you're glib, you don't even know what Ritalin is. If you start talking about chemical imbalance, you have to evaluate and read the research papers on how they came up with these theories, Matt, OK. That's what I've done."

Ahh, so I'm sure Tom also evaluated and read the reseach papers on the scientific implications of Narconon before deciding to become a full-on zealot of this drug rehabilitation psuedoscience. I'm sure there are so many scientific journals citing that drugs will stay in the body indefinately, and as a result, will cause the user to perpetually crave the drug. Of course the only way to scientifically treat something like this is to have the patient has to quit the drug cold-turkey, take dangerous levels of vitamins which are supposed to release the impurities into your circulation, then excercise and sauna vigorously to sweat the drugs out, which is indicative by a colored ooze discharge. Isn't it obvious?

And don't forget these nuggets of wisdom from Scientology Ryla ;)
http://www.scientologytoday.org/Common/question/pg49.htm

From the "Scientology Press Office" site:
"Psychiatry and psychology, by inaugurating the theory of eugenics, provided the philosophical basis for the wholesale slaughter of human beings in World Wars I and II. Psychiatry uses electric shock, brain-mutilating psychosurgery and mind-damaging drugs to destroy a person and make him “docile and quiet” in the name of “treatment.”

Psychiatric methods involving the butchering of human beings and their sanity are condemned by the Church. Scientologists are trying to create a world without war, insanity and criminality. Psychiatry is seeking to create a world were man is reduced to a robotized or drugged, vegetable-like state so that he can be controlled."

Not that these are extreme comments at all.

Ok this may be an unfounded rumor but I always take this into account when people talk about scientology, Someone told me that L. Ron Hubbard started Scientology to win a bet with a bunch of other sci fi writers, that he could create a seriously outlandish religion and actually get people to follow it. All the stuff I have heard about Scientology seems to strike me this this is a fairly likely scenerio.

This is from IMDB...

From: someone
“Tom Crusies beliefs in Scientology are based on misinformation, according to Entertainment Weekly - after editors checked facts from a recent interview … Just weeks after accusing Brooke Shields of being ‘misinformed’ after she championed anti-depressants for helping her deal with post-partum depression, Cruise made a couple of sweeping statements to Entertainment Weekly (who checked) Cruise's comments and found out he wasn't accurate. Supporting Scientology claims that psychiatry is ‘a Nazi science’, Cruise stated, ‘Carl Jung … was an editor for the Nazi papers during World War Two,’ … (EW) researchers discovered this is untrue … The movie star continued, ‘Look at the experimentation the Nazis did with electric shock and drugging. Look at the drug methadone. That was originally called Adolophine. It was named after Adolph Hitler.’ The magazine also questions Cruise on this point, explaining, ‘According to the Dictionary Of Drugs And Medications, this is an urban legend.’”

Yeah, he really knows the history of psychology! He also insisted that Spielberg allow a Scientology tent on the set of War Of The Worlds during filming. He's gone 'round the bend. He's entitled to practice whatever religion he wants, but to subject his coworkers to proselytizing is absurdly annoying.

Chip- what is IMDB? I am betting I feel silly after you tell me but I'm interested in good source sites ;) The proselytizing is absurdly annoying until somebody actually thinks he knows what he's talking about, in which case I think it could be fairly damaging.
