I think that an impartial jury should be the judge of that.

You know what's really funny about all this? Prokofy is a member of this "Justice Watch" thing. It wasn't that long ago, at the Cory Doctorow reading, that Philip was insinuating Prokofy suffered from multiple personality disorders -- by way of avatars. It's interesting to know that Linden Lab doesn't follow the age old addage: never get into bed with anyone crazier than you are.

One potential problem is this, and it's been stated before in other variations: Lindens granting audience to a group for a formal meeting (as opposed to suddenly dropping inworld for unscheduled fun) leads way to precedent for other groups to also request it. Given what feels like extremely packed and busy times, I just have to wonder... and how many other groups are out there that'll ask for such things? How many will raise their hands and say, "Me too?"

Regardless of anything was right or wrong in the beginning, the mechanics—

Reminds me of that episode of Batman: The Animated Series, I think it was, where Bruce Wayne gives out a buck to a bum but suddenly he's awash in a sea of the homeless, each asking for a dollar. Or the ol' classroom saying that if you whisper a secret while the teacher's talking, you should share it with the whole class.

It possibly wouldn't be seen as fair if the Cyberspace Honor Guard (CHG) and the Online Worlds Redemption Consortium (OWRC) also asked to set up a meeting... and never got one.

Added for emphasis: THIS IS WHY I BECAME SUCH A BIASED PERSON. EEE!

Back in the mists of time there were residents that formed groups for singlular specific purposes, and asked questions on how they could go about things... what the linden stance was on matters...

And either didn't get replies, or got mixed info, or basically given the 'do it yourself' line.

Now magically a bunch of folks get together and get a sit down with King Phil...

.... I guess money talks... call me Mr Cinic, and dub me of walking the walk of my good chum Malachi.. but I see which way the bread is buttered round here..
