Even if I ever decide to return, it will not be with this account anyway.

hmmmim kind of interested...but what i dont understand is...how the permissions would work and how you would be able to make it water tight ie: I pay for example 75k but you might still have everything in your inventory to re-sell-sell again...use if you return...etc..

I dont know you..so i have no idea of your integrity...and really who can trust who here...is there a way of making it legal & binding? or is just a gentlemans agreement?

Faithless and Zaphod bring up good questions that are worth discussing...not just for Marcel's business, but for the sale of ANY going concern in SL. How DO you transfer permissions? Get third party license agreements transferred? Protect against fraud and future competition from the seller?

(As far as it goes, Faithless, I believe Marcel is a straight shooter, even if he doesn't know what forum to post his ad in. :D )

Banter, classifeds, poeple blogging, none of it belongs in resident answers. You wanna do that then go to SLU. You can accept random banter as being acceptable but be appalled by a classified ad? you are a hypocrite.

Actually, I don't. I rarely ever get in on a banter thread. You won't see my name in the undying thread and I generally avoid threads with pseudo-philosophical questions. And it is rare for me to start any threads at all. But on the ire scale, the advertising is worse, because it's outside the bounds of what even the banter people find acceptable.

I like Marcel and I respect him, but I don't believe anyone deserves special treatment.

Very sorry to see you go Marcel.

I understand completely. I quietly closed my own West Trade Imports a few weeks ago. Of course I'm not leaving, but no time to modify textures on an $L 50 item any more.

Ah, Phil, just curious - of course everyone is friendly here, but if you could take out a serious modest competitor for less than $L 100k - well I can't do the math from the inside, but I struggle to see why not... grin

Could still offer all the same items, too, so the public doesn't hate you... Think of it as a sort of Microsoft Yahoo deal :)

I'm sorry to see you go as well, Marcel, and I think this thread is fine here.

Those that don't like it are free to ignore it, and when they post their own brand of nonsense, you can do the same for them.

Interesting thought :) The problem with taking a competitor out is that another competitor takes its place; Marcel's store is ranked at #3 for 'low prim furniture'. If it disappears, they all move up. One possibility is to buy it and keep it running, so that I occupy the #1 and #3 positions, but I could do that anyway. Good thinking though :)

This thread has been moved from Resident Answers to Property Sales and Rentals in the Classifieds forum. Contact was requested via notecard for interested parties. While i appreciate the concerns and discussions within the thread, it is more appropriately located within the Classified section.
