You mean if we look at who is teaching? Then we could say the most indoctrinated believe in evolution. Were does evolution indoctrination happen the most? You could argue the exact same thing about the world being flat. To an uneducated person it certainly looks flat.... _____________________

To me this is such an eye opener about America. I'm starting to think Christian version of Iran here!  I agree. There is a concerted effort to tear down the boundaries that make the US secular an put Christian-centric policies in place. Not only is it the teaching of non-scientific creationism (so call "Intellegent" Design), but also the governmental imposition of the fundamentalist version of "the sanctitiy of marriage" into the Consitution. All the while they scream and cry that atheists are attacking them. Personally, I find it extremely frightening. _____________________

Please elaborate as to how "true science" forbids abiogenesis. abiogenesis has never ever been observed. True science says all life comes from existing life, we call it biogenisis. |

I simply don't think you know enough about science and evolution to be taking on this subject. In that respect, you're not much different than half of the rest of the population in your study. And your assertions about the acceptance of Evolution by the rest of the world are just plain wrong: Science & Technology: Public Understanding Americans were less likely than residents of other countries to answer "true" to the following scientific knowledge questions: "human beings, as we know them today, developed from earlier species of animals" and "the universe began with a huge explosion." In the United States, 44% of the respondents in an NSF-sponsored survey answered "true" to the first question in 2004, about the same level recorded in every year (except one) that the question has been asked. In contrast, 78% of Japanese respondents answered "true," as did 70% of the Chinese and European respondents and more than 60% of the South Korean and Malaysian respondents. Only in Russia did less than half (44%) of respondents answer "true." Similarly, Americans were less likely than other survey respondents (except the Chinese) to answer "true" to the "big bang" question. U.S. responses to questions about evolution and the big bang appear to reflect more than unfamiliarity with basic elements of science. _____________________

Do they not belong in science? I think I see the problem here: you misunderstand the very nature of science itself. Science is a method, not a state. |
