When will Bush stop lying?

Wow, the Bush apologists are getting no rest lately.

The night before Katrina hit, Bush is on video being told that the levees stand a good chance of breaking.

Four days after Katrina hits, Bush, on vacation, tells the press "I don't think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees."

Bush's first instinct is to lie.

If you think it's just the conservatives stretching to defend people who don't deserve it because it fits their agenda, you're half blind.

"But... But...They did it first!"

"Does that make it right? Now, you wait in time-out and just think about that."

"But, mom!"

Apparently some people still think it is okay to repeatedly lie to the general public with no consequences. Even when people die as a result.

Apparently some people still think Bush is a conservative, despite sweeping, liberal, changes to government and policy.

Apparently some people think Democrats (or anyone else for that matter) don't have any ideas or plans or suggestions. That's a blatent, disproven, falsehood. Nobody stopped having ideas despite being unable to get those ideas voted on or considered properly.

So to you people who STILL think those above, please endeavor to enlighten yourself to some facts. Do it yourself too, don't make us embarrass the hell out of you by having to do your research for you. You'll likely not be satisfied unless you do it anyway.

That was a lie.

Seems that way...

Thanks for proving my point, to the posters above, by the way.

Often the point is made that I "blame America first" or that I tend to criticise the USA government before other governments.

There's a very simple reason for that.

I"M AMERICAN.

At anyrate, I don't really blame America first. First I have coffee.

I'm just going to post this little snippet then be on my way and hopefully restrain from responding to any backlash that I may receive...

I am sitting by waiting for the time when a Democrat becomes President and "messes up" and "lies" as such is reported with President Bush and see where those of you blaming Bush have to say of that situation. I'm not going to say I hope a natural disaster occurs, by no means, the loss of life should hit every human being to the core, but if one does occur and it is not responded to with the fervor that people want or demand, I want to see the full throttle investigation on that President as it is for this one. I'm thinking...NO. But I could be wrong. Also, the local officials are just as responsible as anyone, they were there in the midst they know their areas, they know their levees. Believe it or not, everything bad that happens in the USA, is NOT the President's fault. (regardless of who it is) Actually, I recall reading that the organization in that area that formed to help rebuild and maintain the levees was using their money not to make sure the city is safe, but to oust a local official they didn't like by spending hundreds of dollars on petitions..hmm...(not that everything is to blame on that, but should that not make one think, before speaking??)

Have a great day!

Proud, Patriotic, American.

So wasting millions of dollars on, was it two or three independent counsels to "get" Clinton, is justified now? Or are we going to just keep repeating history? Hell, does anyone remember that there was a Civil War? Talk about a divisive President

Historically EVERY president has been bashed - just because there's easier access to information and our society isn't as "polite" as it used to be doesn't mean there was never dissent and horror at how a President is running the country before GWB came along. Please, I implore you, go read your history... you'd be amazed.

I can actually understand that argument.

I don't have a problem with seeing criticism of American policies and such, I've done it too, but what bothers me is the complete lack of discussion on the other side.

It's the very fact that you're an American that makes this statement so outrageous. Yes, if we're at fault we need to admit it and correct it. But you blame America for absolutely everything. Moreover, I have never seen you say anything positive about our country. Everything you say about the US in these forums has been extremely negative.

Finally, you not only blame American first, but also second and last. I have yet to see you criticize another country unless they happen to be close allies of ours.

I'd rather have to put up with all your baseless accusations of non-existent Bush conspiracies than have a Democrat in office.

That is why we have elections, isn’t it? I remember a politician saying to me once that we need to emphasize the positive and common ground. In any event to win elections you need to be for something and not just against someone. A political party has to have a clear goal and means to achieve it. Otherwise it becomes meaningless noise. This noise will “turn off” those you are trying to convience.

no, it isn't. We hold elections to have public officials represent us in a manner that permits us to work while still retaining a say in government.

You'll note we also have recall elections (which happen because previously elected officials have been removed, died, etc.). We also have legal processes for removing inaffective elected persons. Impeachment proceeds are merely to initiate an inquiry into a current official. The result of which can be reaffirmation and confidence in their conduct, or their removal or censure (which amounts to enough confidence to keep them at the position).

Of course, you can't remove an official or reaffirm leadership if you're not willing to go through the process of investigating such. IF Bush were impeached and reaffirmed, it would be a vast boost to his support base. I personally rather doubt that a republican house and senate would find him unable to continue his job. The whole process would make a lot of us happier though, regardless of outcome.

I've said many nice things about our country and it's history. It's because of my love for this country that I'm so critical of the fascists now in control (and it's supporters like you.)

WHY DO YOU HATE AMERICA??

Actually this does happen. Many conservatives have pointed to this as a weakness in the Democratic party.

We often and openly judge our own for their behavior.
