Bush is a politician. Regardless of whether or not one agrees with his agenda, acumen, or ability, his falling into the human substrata 'politician' guarantees that he will, in fact, not cease lying. I'm sorry, but what most fail to realize is that Bush is not a God. He is not all-knowing. I guess what I'm getting at is he, more than likely, had advisors telling him of the situation and what to say. I'm only guessing on this but to me it makes sense. How else could he possibly know how prepared they were? He is only as informed as the intel he receives. I'm sure Clinton or any other president were liars too. Ooops didn't mean Clinton, he was a god.
 Any way, stop bitching about everything and start working on ways to fix things. Still haven't heard any solutions...just complaints. "We can do better" than do it._____________________

Anyway, with respect, I'm not going to get in anymore discussions on shoulda coulda woulda on Katrina. That would be a different thread if you want to start a new one on that. I just wish you'd spend that energy you have hating it and turn it into doing something positive. But then I guess it's easier to bash everyone you don't like. Did Bush cause the storm? Maybe Pat Robertson might think so. Did fail to apprise the local officials of what his advisors had told him? Yep. Did he do so intentionally or just because he was sleeping through the advisories? We'll likely never know. Does it matter what party Bush belongs to? Nope. It was his DHS that he failed to disseminate the information from to the parties that needed it. Whatever the motivations or lack thereof, it was a the exact opposite of what he should have done. And this is without the benefit of hindsight. If you want to espouse an opinion, do yourself the favor of making it one informed by the evidence available. |
