Will the Thin White Duke ever be resurrected?
He definitely will not. Absolutely, he will.

What if I boil the first four in Holland, and then boil the final four in Switzerland?
Nice try. They don't boil eggs in Holland. :) That we know of anyway.

Hmmm. Ulrika, if I rolled over tomorrow morning and told you that the name of my SL alt was securely within the "J" range of the alphabet, is there a chance that I would regret it? Would you lead me like a lamb to the abattoir?
I would certainly believe that there is a chance you could be one but there is no way I would be secure in the thought that you are the other, if I am understanding what you're saying. :D

Ulrika, why did you skip over my earlier questions in this thread. :(
I skipped a few questions because I didn't have the time to give them proper answers, which I feel they deserve. I intend to go back and get them later as I have time. (That includes yours Selador.)

Today we've been reorganizing and cleaning our entire home in preparation for the start of a new nanny once one is selected. At the moment we're in between our first two nanny interviews. :) Personally, I think the baby will be fine in the closet while we're at work. We tipped over a bag of cat food, so there's plenty to eat.

I'm coming back for the tough ones later. :) I couldn't think of anything sassy to write in the secret comments.

If you could mandate one area of reseach to take precedence over all others, what would it be?

I got a question. Just now you used the forum area you're controlling to call me a griefer and a bunch of other names, then when I asked you why, you deleted my post.

Does that make you feel big? Cause I think you're very small.

It is very satisfying to put an absolute and instant stop to forum griefing instead of having to play the AR lottery. That is truly one of the best parts about having a private sim and forum. In other words, the asshats are on a leash.

In scene 37, of road house, the director's cut, in the background is that really Sam Elliott giving Judge Rheinhold roadhead in the back of that 1980 chevy pickup? Or is it distortion jelly coupled with an angry squirrel that is attacking a stagehand?

Ok...

I would like to know...

Why you would log onto SL to go to a bunch of meetings about a town that doesn't really exist, with some people you would smack in the mouth if you ever met them in RL?

Srsly, I am curious!

What would it take to keep you in Neualtenburg? You've got 2 new members if you do in fact stay :)

Doesn't exist?

My, I must have ate the good acid every time I teleport into the sim... :D

There is a Pokemon episode where Meowth and Jesse steal hamburgers from James. When James returns to his lone hamburger, he finds Wobbuffet eating it.

What does he say to Wobbuffet? :D

Still not gettin' ya, Willow.

I pay real money into the organization that helps to pay for a real sim, running on a real CPU, contained in a real metal box. (Although I suspect California itself is imaginary.)

I'm not simply having fun at your expense, here - I'm pointing out a similar thing as I did to another some few days ago; the fact that the underlying "reality" of SL is silicon, iron oxide, and electricity does not render it nonexistent - quite the opposite!

No matter how many layers between the people communicating, real people are involved, and that's all the existence you need. It would be entirely accurate to say Neualtenburg does not physically exist save as electrical impulses, but not to say it doesn't exist at all... and it certainly matters to real, existent people. It's all the reality you need.

Oh I respect that you all feel that way, really!

I'm not mocking it, I was just wondering, I mean personally, I wouldnt log into SL to go to meetings about governing a city or what not, cos if I wanted to get into all that, I would do it in RL.

As I said, what I mean can't really be expressed through just typing on a keyboard cos well it would take far too long and I can't be arsed, so I won't really explain it well.

But thanks anyways!

Part of it is the point is it's in SL. The ultimate point of Neualtenburg is to share a sim, at the end of the day. The "theme", the "experimental type of government", those are all chrome compared to the base aim: let people buy pieces of a sim and have a say in how it's run.

Do we have to have such a formal governmental system? Of course not! There are other such resource-sharing projects all over the grid, some just understandings between friends, others the familiar landlord/tenant relationship, etc, etc. But those involved in N-burg, I would wager, feel that our system is a superior way to fairly share a sim without the necessity of being good friends and on good relations with all involved. We could all bitterly dislike each other and Neualtenburg would still - in theory - work so long as we were all committed to the ideals of the government itself.

And, to be fair, I imagine a lot actually get into the "fun" of political scheming without the expense and bother of running for a RL position. Just like running a store in SL, really! ;)

What if SL _IS_ the reality and the real world is the simulacron? What if when we dream, THAT's the reality? And where'd Ulrika go? And hey, I just stole some acid from Willow and think I lost it!
