As for your second question, I dunno, search the forums. And this running gag is really getting annoying you know ![]() Only to you. ![]() _____________________

I once played the part of Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar, and one night during the song "Pilate's Dream," high atop a scaffolding, probably 20 ft in the air, my wireless mic quit; I took the song up a full octave and belted it out, and was heard in the back row of the 3000 seat auditorium over the band.
I was once referred to as 'the most talented student I've ever had' by my college drama coach (to someone else, not in my presence, who told me about it later). I survived a head-on collision on the Interstate with both vehicles doing 70 mph. (I don't recommend it, however.) I have written hundreds of songs, one of which hit #17 on SoundClick.com's pop/rock charts in 2004. I have been the recipient of suggestive IMs from several prominent SLers, some of whom appear to be part insect. (Shouldn't have watched The Wasp Woman again last night.) ![]() I am the founder of the DDouble LLetter Gang, a group for avatars whose first and last names both begin with the same letter. I am also the co-founder and associate publisher of the Metaverse Messenger. I have a dollar! See it? A whole dollar. It's mine! And you can't have it. Nyah nyah nyah. P2 _____________________

i wasn't going to post, but..

since everyone else is doing it.. hehe. but really, it's turned out to be quite a fun thread and since i have a couple small claims.. why not share?
![]() my first claim to fame was creating the avatar that Harvey Smith used when he visited SL for an interview with Hamlet. my second claim was designing the nametags for the first official SL convention, SLCC 2005! (man, that was a great time!) ..i suppose i could also mention that i'm the slowest builder in all the land of SL. at least i think i am.. and i'm sure Marcos and Barnes do, too. *shrug* ..hopefully i'll be able to add something to that someday that includes the making of large sums of money. ![]() Edit: oh yeah! and i created the first Second Life group on MySpace. ok, so maybe that's not so amazing, but hey.. it's something. else. besides being the alter-ego of The Quirk, but i'll let him speak for himself. _____________________

Okeydoke just an update, everyone who explicitly asked fo' a "TORLEY LINDEN bare" (intentional, not a typo--my soul's laid bare here) will soon be getting one in your inventory. Anyone who wants one can contact me... which can be done... uh... here, or send me a PM or IM or email.
Thanx for the motivation to get things done. =^_^= _____________________

My claim to fame..? Hm.
RL I've ended up in the local TV news twice--largely by chance--and in a local newspaper once(in a photo). SL I walked 3/4 of the Mainland's coastline with Cubey Terra and others back of February of '05. Blanc Noir(aka Cubey Terra) said once that I was apparently a well-known name. Uhmn.. I fell into the processing machine on the ANWR PrimRig shortly after it opened. I was also the very first Kewlip, for all that's worth. ^.^ |

well even if I'm not THAT old or even famous in SL I do have my share of claim to fame in RL so let's show off
- I can be seen on live DVDs from many bands such as Moi Dix Moi, Nightwish, Iron Maiden and some others. - I have kissed (sadly not a french kiss ) ALL the L'Oreal models back in 1999 Cannes film festival while I was working in one of the seaside palaces. - I have climbed the stairs of the Cannes Festival closing ceremony along with some french actors and directors. -I have got to shake Gerard Depardieu, Alain Delon and some other actors hands oh ! and the last but not least one ... while working at the Palace in Cannes I got to serve a whole meal to all the top porn stars attending the Hot D'or contest ... and managed to get some kiss on the cheek (I know I'm lame ... but that was cool !) ![]() In SL : Well I know somebody who knows everybody in SL *looks innocent pointing at Siobhan *ok let's stay modest and go back to my dark corner EDIT : Torley I WANT A BEAR PWEAAAAASE !!! |

ok I'll get serious, A band I was in in the 80's open for, Nazareth, Pat Traveres, Aerosmith, Black Oak Arkansas, Chicago, Rick Springfield...Who?, thats right Rick springfield, Hall and Oates, oh and Kool and the Gang, I think theres more but it's a blurr. The 90's opened for LA guns, Warrant, Slaughter, Vince Neil, Bullet boys Dangerous Toys, we were on Mtv for an interview on Pay to Play in Hollywierd..oops that was in the late 80's sorry. Theres more but my brain is suffering from chemical deprivation, I no longer see in trails and this disappoints me, I think

in SL:
/me for dropping Huge KY tubes at the most opportune times. I'm also one of only a very small handful of orange avatars (waves at Loki!) in RL: I was an extra in the movie Dead Poet's Society, and actually got to meet Robin Williams. He's very short and has the hairiest arms I have EVER seen! EWWWWW! But he's funny as hell! _____________________

Okay, let's see...
RL - Had photographs of mine published in a couple of magazines (Travelogue and West Michigan Magazine). I was in middle school at the time. Had an animation featured in a piece on National Geographic Explorer (though I never actually saw it air). Had another animation shown on 3d goggles at the Atlanta olympic games as part of a Lucent Technologies display. The 80's one hit wonder Aldo Nova drummed on the back of my seat on a flight from San Antonio to Dallas and refused to stop when I told him how annoying it was. (when I got home I threw his casette out the window of my car while driving down the freeway.) I was continuity director on a day long shoot with Dennis Miller in which I both made him laugh and caused him to have a prima donna hissy fit when I corrected him (he kept saying "compact" instead of Compaq and when corrected would say "No I didn't. I'm a professional. I don't make those kinds of mistakes." etc. He shut up when I reminded him that I could roll the tape back. For the next several takes he'd say "compacTUH" just to be a dick). I've been interviewed by several newspapers and was on a DC NPR radio show recently with Philip and Ted Castranova about SL. I taught animation classes for eight years at a better college than the one I dropped out of (yay irony!). SL - I'm well known for my clothing and skin templates and was the first person to start selling detailed avatar skins in SL. _____________________

RL: If you remember hearing last year about a company that was firing people for being smokers, even if they smoked off-duty and in their own homes, I had something to do with that. Notable people met: Randy Weaver (Ruby Ridge) Fred Phelps (had the hotel room next to him. Talk about wasted opportunity...) Phil Donahue told me to "Shut up, kid" when I pointed him out on a Chicago street Jeremy Rifkin Various corporate ne'er-do-wells Jeffrey Wigand, the guy the 1999 movie "The Insider" was based on Jerry Flint (No, not Larry. Jerry. And you probably don't know who he is anyway. But *I* do.) SL: Not notable for a damned thing. I thought you were famous in SL - I liked your SL Magazine. I know it was a lot of work for you with deadlines and all, but I miss it. . _____________________

In SL I don't have a claim to fame except when I started I was the only person out of about 35,000 that had the name "Dianne" and spelled it the (correct) old-fashioned way with the two "N's."
In RL - Survived five separate close brushes with instant death! whew! ![]() - Met tons of famous people, movie stars etc. (I was a waitress for a long time) - Had a couple of editorials published in the newspaper. - Been on TV 3 times! Once as a fashion model, once being interviewed on a talk show. (the third is better off not talked about.) ![]() _____________________
