Can you play WoW without any actual fighting? I'm useless at that.

I didn't realize that these were actual players in WoW!

Hello! Since I know you follow the Off-Topic forums very closely Ulrika, I am positive you saw both THIS and THIS thread.
From: Ulrika Zugzwang
One of the saddest things to me about the forums in SL is how it can be used as a vehicle for directed hatred towards individuals.

Unlike many posters in these forums I don't post to play a game or to"satisfy a craving for attention," as you have said you do sometimes. My post was simply to show off what we have done in WoW, invite others to join us, and express how much fun we have been having. :D

Much like the forums, NO, I do not believe it can be done that way. ;)

Tho, I got bored fighting last night and took a short break to practice my fishing and cooking skills, and there are plenty of distractions, but you need to fight and level up to, well, level up and get anywhere, AFAIK.

It wasn't sarcastic. I was simply stating that FIC jokes/parodies are tired.

Maybe the confusion came from the fact that I didn't realize that you all really had a WoW team and thought the root post was a parody. *shrug*

Observations:
Me smells a troll in this thread

Funny how there was no drama in any of the WoW threads until someone showed up. This is the exact reason why SL is dying for some of us.

When did this thread become about UT2K4? Perhaps someone should go start her own thread.

I'll happily slaughter you any time Ulrika. :)

Oh, and Eboni... will you marry me? hehe :D

I did not see those. I've been essentially absent from the forums for the past week and a half, save for an occasional post or two. My sporadic participation is due to varying RL family and work loads, as well as a declining interest in SL in general.

There's really no need for hostility. I fully support your efforts and, as I said before, I think it's great that there's an SL-based WoW group! When I realized that the parent post was not a WoW parody, where individuals had names assigned to existing WoW characters (I've never played WoW), I was pleasantly surprised. The FIC-inspired name however is really feted inner tired.

While I find this SL-WoW crossover interesting, what I find even more interesting is the level of defensiveness and hostility associated it. In this thread there are paragraphs of black personal insults, folks searching through the forums and posting links, and accusations of ulterior motives. It has a cult-like Scientology feel to it, where dissent is violently suppressed through personal attacks but the invitation to join is always offered. ;)

It's definitely made for an interesting thread, pulling me back into the forums for the time being.

See someone is not reading the thread but only seeing what they want to see.. it clearly says FIH nowhere do I see FIC. *sigh*

Just a cute pic to share with everyone. We went on our first official FIH raid. Roar! FYI, WoW sucks when it comes to letting you move your camera to get a good screenshot.

Actually the hostility is all associate with you. It was nice and peaceful until you poked your hostile ass in. Spread your evil in a thread.

You must not be familiar with the controls. I find the camera movement in WoW to be more intuitive and easy to use. You can do it all with the mouse, if you need some help let me know. What did you guys "raid" Elwynn Forest?

I love the above screenshot. I've always had difficulty finding folks to play online games with me -- it is now so obvious to me that SL is the perfect place to find such people, as evidenced by this project. I'll see if I can scare up some teams for some online games over Christmas break, when I have some more time.

I apologize if I sounded hostile or if my ass exuded hostility while making the post. I did not intend to spread my evil in a thread. As I've explained, I mistakenly thought this was yet another tired FIC parody not realizing that it was in fact a real team playing in WoW. I wish you all the best of luck and do hope you enjoy yourselves despite the hostility that is all associate with me, spreading evil in a thread. ;)

ulrika, i'm probably one of the few people that like most of your posts, and think people tend to look for an excuse to fight with you. i respect women that speak their mind, even if it's not agreed with. however, you basically attacked us with your first post. so any defensiveness on our part was in direct response to that. it's hardly the equivalent to a cult or scientology.

you are free to dislike the name, and disagree with whatever you'd like. but sometimes it's good to remember that some things are just meant to be silly and fun, not taken so seriously.
