$L 1 says that you will choose to leave Second Life as well someday, and when you do, you will be gone for a shorter period than Ulrika.

I'll know, because it's a gentleman's bet. You are on your honour, and I believe that to be sufficient. You would notify me upon your return. Someone might have to check with Ulrika to see how long she had left, or in the case of her absence, you would win of course.

The amount is symbolic; honestly, betting $L 500 (approx. $1.82 USD today) is about as ridiculous as $L 1, but the smaller value highlights the symbolism.

Incidentally, I've made similar $L 1 bets in world, and so far have yet to lose.

(if in fact I lose and you never return, please name an heir to recieve the $L 1 - if the scion is not legitimate and that matters to you, I swear never to reveal the name)
