From: Puck Goodliffe The only way any of you can help America now is to vote for me in '08.
First rule of law - Moloch worshipping. Except instead of children sacrificed, we sacrifice politicans, CEOs, right-wing zealots of the Robertson ilk and extremist Capitalists.
I'll figure out the rest of my plan when I have time. I'd go for that. Of course I can't vote, not being a US citizen, but I'm sure I can hack a voting machine for you, which would be much more effective anyway.

From: Phedre Aquitaine Then why continue a cycle of violence by doing to a family what was done to other families?
I am honestly boggled. I don't understand. The "cycle of violence" will continue regardless, until people in the Middle East decide to stop teaching their kids that the best thing to aspire to is a life ending in murder/suicide. There are many forms of justice, including poetic and schadenfreude.

There are many forms of justice, including poetic and schadenfreude. You astound me. Congratulations. You have made me physically ill. As someone who has been victimised, you both frighten and disgust me. You are as short-sighted and ignorant as the people you revile. Think you're superior? You share their "logic". I won't be speaking to you anymore, for the same reason I don't discuss things with Kevn Klein - I don't know if it's more frightening that you'd troll with this kind of puerile, childish, bullying shit, or if you actually believe it - either way, you're not worth the time it takes for me to wrestle nausea at someone on either side of this who thinks that the punishment of the innocent is somehow okay because they're different. Thank you, Kat, for showing me where the ignore feature is. I'm finished.

From: Phedre Aquitaine No, but it'll be one less turd in the punchbowl.
Do you think further provocation and (as they'll view it) desecration of his corpse will do anything?
*strips sentence of snark carefully* I don't think that it's wise to want to further damage the image of America among those who are undecided by keeping a dead man's corpse. Yes, the undecided exist. Yes, it serves us very well not to increase animosity among them.
I'm not sure why it seems like such a good idea to some to further provoke a populace that is already viewing us with disfavor, but hey, if it's not your ass personally on the line... Your claim that desecration of his (Zarqawi) corpse will increase animosity is like someone complaining about their tax dollars being misused. Yes, let's give the body back with the hope that millions of wahhabist muslims will not hate us more? Since we want to reduce the amount of 'animosity' America puts out to the world - specifically the Middle-East, lets just: - shut down coka-cola since for some reason it's existence is offensive to the Saudi's - Make american women cover their hair, face, and ankles (yea, i'd love to dress like that) - shut down all American fast food restaurants in the Middle-East - stop musical artists from singing about sex The list goes on. We are hated around the world, especially in the Middle-East for ALOT of reasons that have nothing to do with American Foreign Policy. Briana Dawson

First, if his family is going to build a shrine to his martyrism, they will build it with or without his body.
Second, taking the moral high ground and returning his body intact makes us look better.
It is to our advantage to return his body and treat his family with respect instead of making him more of a "martyr".

From: Phedre Aquitaine I'm trying to figure out precisely how a person decides that violence should beget violence, and how hypocrisy is a good thing...
Well in a perfect world violence does not beget violence. But as the bible says, an eye for an eye. Would you rather the U.S. not respond to violence with violence? Maybe we should have sent Cardinal Mahoney to Afghanistan after they demolished the World Trade Center towers to talk about the issue of them hating us peacefully. Maybe after 9/11 we should have held an international conference on "how America can change so that the rest of the world wont hate us". Briana Dawson

From: Phedre Aquitaine You have made me physically ill. Yay! From: someone As someone who has been victimised, you both frighten and disgust me. Don't imagine for a minute that you've cornered the market on the victim label. From: someone Think you're superior? To people who behead others and film it for recruiting purposes? You betcha! From: someone I won't be speaking to you anymore Excellent. Thanks for playing, buhbye. From: someone for the same reason I don't discuss things with Kevn Klein - I don't know if it's more frightening that you'd troll with this kind of puerile, childish, bullying shit, or if you actually believe it - either way, you're not worth the time it takes for me to wrestle nausea at someone on either side of this who thinks that the punishment of the innocent is somehow okay because they're different. That this sentence is too long and meandering to accurately parse, so I'm still trying to figure out who you're saying is innocent? I was talking about Zarqawi.

Briana Dawson Do you know what a strawman is? Would you like to? Am I wasting my time trying to speak to you as though you were an adult? (Hint - I use "strawman" a lot because you're using them a lot. If you'd like me to stop, I bet you can figure out what to do.)

You haven't addressed what has been said to you except for saying that: (1) you are physically ill (2) you are placing lorelei on ignore (3) uh, strawmen, again. It really does sound like you are way out of your league in any political conversation or debate. You seem to say very little and call upon few if any facts at all. Briana Dawson

Briana Dawson What have you said that ISN'T a strawman? Seriously. Give me an example of ONE FUCKING THING you have said that is actually addressing what I HAVE said, rather than the usual kneejerk jingo bullshit idiocy you like to spew?

Briana Dawson Then again Jesus said, "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone". So I don't think we can take any moral high ground on this!

Quoting the bible is only relevant when it supports your desire for more war and killing. Otherwise it's just liberal, AMERICA HATING HOGWASH. *sigh*
