Security I will give you. Power I will not. Turn on your power settings in Windows (if you’re a Mac I would have to say they have the same thing but unknown). Then when you are off the computer it will power down to a level that will use very little power. Start up uses allot of power. If you are only going to be off for 48 hr or less you have saved power. Any more then that is questionable. Side not on Security if it internet just unplug the internet and you are now just as secure. **Bump** It's not that I don't believe you...well okay maybe it is. WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS! |

It's not that I don't believe you...well okay maybe it is. I know startup requires more power. But an amount equal to 48 hours of running? I'd have to see testing and statistics to believe that... sleep mode uses almost no power. Start up uses allot. easy math. _____________________

I have XP at home and work and don't have that problem. Maybe it's not XP but it's something you did to it. Maybe a program or something. Well maybe, but here's the kicker: I tried using a hibernate when the system was brand new and it hung just like it does when it tries to sleep. I may have put SOMETHING on it during those first few hours, but the chances of whatever that is having caused this...? _____________________

I ran into this problem too, 1. I forgot to restart Boink and fell way behind because it was turned off 2. The results have to be verified before you get the recent credit and sometimes it can take a few days to a week.
BTW, the Einstien@Home screensaver is awsome if you haven't seen it. My monitor always went black before it came up so I never paid any attention but I had a look the other day and its very well done. _____________________
It may be true that the squeaky wheel gets the grease but it is also true that the squeaky wheel gets replaced at the first critical maintenance opportunity.

I'm not sure if I'm still falling behind, staying even, or catching up. My stats are seriously out of wack from past stats, I think, so it's decieving. I'm not gonna keep this pace up indefinitely though.
 But I know I was definitely in 4th place, and now I'm third, even though the recent avg still shows me slower than Fairge. So something's fishy. Also some of the stats for my newer machine are way below my older ones, which can't be accurate... must be averaging going on._____________________
