Trouble Logging In

hey its me my avatar name Nathan Steele im having trouble logging in can you please help it starts to load then quits at preparing invintory says need to contact you all i sent you a e-mail and auto reply said this could be fast depends anyway just to let you know cya

It sounds like your computer doesn't support SL. As you can tell from the forums, everyone else can get in fine.

Many players are having issues logging in tonight Nathan. The forums are a great resourse to find out if you are having the same issues as others.

yep I am still having that problem too. I dont know what to do, login was down till about a half and hour ago but should be up by now and still cant get in. Maybe if we reinstall it could work.

No dont reinstall.. the login in server is backed up

no i dont think so, mine has been off for 5 hours and in withdrawing..lol i reinstalled it, restarted my pc and waited a very veryyyyy long time at the inventory screen. Mex can get on but i cant.. hmmm

anyway idk but its not me i got in earlier after the big blow out was fixed then i quit for a bite cus i was on slower computor tried to swtich then couldnt get on any of the two

o by the way i dont care how long it take this game is better than www.there.com DO NOT GO THERE THE PEOPLE ARE RUDE AND the people who work for there dont obay the code of conduct i got perminaitl bann for there cus of one little mis hap

I have the same problem to. Make it worse I had problems getting on the website...but thats a different story. Im glad to know its not just me. But what bites is that I was supposed to run an event tonite......DAMNIT!. I hope this fixes by tomorrow....

I hope it comes back up sometime this evening. I'll bet that if SL was completely down earlier, it's probably just flooded trying to handle all the people trying to sign in again.

On a related note, I'm having another issue with my copy of SL: Every once in a while, when I try to login, the game freezes at "Preparing Inventory" - the program gets marked as "Not responding" and I have to force-quit it to regain control. This happens randomly, and when it does, I never get back to the sign-in screen or get an error message.

Has anyone else run into this as well?

It may be back up, but I am still having problems, sometimes I get this after extended tweaking of the system, so reinstalling may make it better.

hey man i am totally having the same problem exact same one i really hope its working by tomorrow so i can be in Second Life for the count down

i just got an error message saying i cant login to the server due to my systems clock problems.. ofcourse just like them to blame my system for their inconsistancies

Mine isnt working eitther. ive tried using different computers too. wheneverI log in I get to preparing inventory then it says I should email the company telling them aboutit then give them a log file. Which I did. the other said my clock was wrong, but it was right.

I got on earlier during the brief interval when the login was working and things were going fine till I decided to visit Cordova. Then the sim crashed and I got the bad clock setting message several times. So if you are in and the grid is in fact still up, probably best not to travel needlessly.

I'm having the same issue... hanging during startup at "preparing inventory". I have been on SL for close to a year so it's not a pc issue. in fact, I tried on my laptop AND my desktop and it hangs in the same place for both....

i'm SO tired of having so many updates to this program. every update makes my firewall suspicious and i have to tell it (again) that SL is an "okay" program... THEN it hangs up every once a while... always after I install the latest update.

It seems many of us are experiencing the same connectivity issues. The response from tech support is automated with holiday closure notifications and no postings to the announcements either.

I see some serious customer service issues here that need to be better addressed. The last support request I submitted took well over a week. I would be very curious to learn what if any monitoring is done by the tech support group in these forums and or why we the users are not kept up to date. If it is a staffing issue then perhaps the new funding should be allocated to providing members with a better product then what we have been experiencing.

Same problem here...first hanging up in "preparing inventory" and now the screen goes blank during start up...I have to close the program to get out of it because it goes "not responding" on me. I'm pretty sure it's not a PC problem because until yesterday it worked fine.

yup.... but if you get someone they'll try to say it's your machine.

it's now 9:10 game time I still can't get in the game. There are several people I know that are in same boat as me. I fail to understand why some can get in and others can't. But this is getting to be ridiculous

We're having the same problem on two different computers.

okies.. I know SL is slow at log in's tonight but thisis rediculious..... I know peeps in-game.. that logged, but I have been trying for 2 hours nowto no avail. I have rebooted my router, not to mention having to reboot my comp about a dozen times from SL freeze ups. I reinstalled all to no avail ... soo i'mm find something else to do I guess * sigh*

all you gotta do is let it sit there on "preparing inventory" until it finally starts moving again. the login servers are backed up. this has taken me up to 10 minutes, but the bar will eventually start moving again.

I have been doing that all along it boots me back to login screen every time been going on for 2 and a half hours
