Club Piranha Forced To Close

OK, I will say this on the subject.

You all saw my first post, I was polite and gave shad my best wishes on the time i spent DJ'ing there, just to point out i don't actually have a problem with shad.

But this is ridiculous, talking as someone not involved with the whole lot of you lately, shad your coming over as an obsessive nutcase!

Either shut the club and go or get a decent security solution and embrace it, this "zomg you killed my club now feel my wrath" is petty, cheap and makes you look the worse person hon. If people have got to you then just rise above it, surely this is the reaction they expect to get from you.

If you go public with club names and members involved, I think you are commiting proverbial social suicide, doing that will cause nothing but drama and you more than likely will involve innocent people, then that makes you as bad as the griefers. If the Lindens aren't responding the way you want to, then it's maybe time to think about a different metaverse because in all honesty for the moment - they hold all the keys, you can kick and stomp and scream and throw your dummy all you like, it's very rare for them to bow to dramatics.

I think from whats being said the attacks are clearly not aimed at Pirahna but more at you instead, again I am sorry to hear you've went through this all this and I make no reservations for the people that griefed you, but I cannot possibly sit and watch a little vigilante group gather to take potshots at other people.

Daisy! Save your counter-attempts at public defamation which are lies. I am confident all will be thoroughly investigated with appropriate action taken by LL for those who played role in any subversion. If you are truly innocent, then you have no worries.

I guess you really couldnt understand what a great place Piranha was unless you were there. No matter who you were, what you wore, what you looked like, wether you were gay, straight, bi, a furry, an alien or a fairy everyone was accepted and loved. Even some of the Lindens came to party at piranha XD!!! I think all the members and friends of Piranha would agree it was an amazing club that promoted fun, love & peace! I had the opportunity to meet so many wounderful individuals and make lasting frindships there, thats why it's really sad to know that certain indivuduals, besides the previous staff members, one in particular that was supposedly shads close friend was involved in this unfortunate event. Something really should be done about it!!! Hellooooo Lindens!!!!!

Piranha always had a variety of live DJ's that were amazingly talented and sincerly friendly(hihi), I personaly got to know many dj's there, you all know who you are !! and even became really good friends with some of them ))

When I was new to SL, I searched all kinds of clubs but none of them really made me feel as welcome as when I found Piranha!! Most of them had radio streams playing so when I walked into piranha I heard my favorite music and live dj's!!! I ended up staying there all day and night LOL!! just like many of you I'm sure XD!

I totally agree with Jeppe Wilder "Shad..give us the names of the ones guilty", "Members of Piranha..we are at least 100...and we have friends...If all of us and our friends ban those guys from our homes ..sims..clubs stores etc...it will have some effect." Maybe it will send a message to other griefers frinds that united we can win!!!! If we stand togather we can make a difference!!!! Dont let Piranha die in vain!!!!

I hope the thread gets locked when the Lindens wake up, the stream of people making a fool of themselves is making me laugh my morning weetabix out my nose so stop it now!

I will say this the attacks are likely against you shad however they should keep it towards you and not attack an entire club its just pointless. Going forward with some string of connections because of people in someones profile is a bit absurd though by any account you have no proof that any of these people were involved even indirectly your making assumptions based on who is in someones profile.

I didnt want to be dragged into this forum post but after seeing that i have to comment really its just to far. Find the direct individuals involved with proof that it was 100% them your basing it off who you believe the people attacking you to be and then it looks like your trying to connect them into some mass conspiracy. While im not personally attacking you here im simply calling the posting as i see it. You're never forced to close a place its always your choice to do so people can have a hand in it but letting someone get to you just lets them win over you.

While i applaud Piranha as a Venue and you for making such a venue when you make brash claims like this it just detracts from people's respect of you. Republik has been open 1 year 5 months and 18 days we've had our share of griefers but we also dont have near as many as some places. We try to be respectful in our methods and one thing to remember even if you get heated or ticked off at an employee or whatever handle it professionally going off on someone usually only leads to trouble or drama but that goes for everyone really.

Im not saying you did act out in a manner unprofessionally but its something people need to watch for in themselves especially in as social a position as a club owner is in SL. You get a bad rep people attack you your club may end up in the crosshairs to. In the early days of building republik for an example a friend of mine got involved in some kind of guy wanting to control girls and was protecting the girls and the guy threatened my friend now my friend had the club in his picks and this lead to the guy threatening to grief the club as well.

Sadly some people dont keep things personal between themselves and the person and try to drag things out. Either way though accusing people without proof and just assumptions isnt really right. And trying to say there is a conspiracy by seeing names in someones profile is just a bit brash. If you find my name in one of these people's profiles are going to go off on me being in a conspiracy here to or any people that have some amount of respect for you. Just think before going ahead with actions you described here they really dont look good.

Piranha was a great venue so lets hope you dont disgrace it by trying to make it into some kind of conspiracy to force you to shut down let it leave on a good note in people's minds not a sour one.

@ Healer with what jenns quoted that kind of an absurd move most of these people being accused of being in a conspiracy are just in people's profiles im sure your prolly linked in there somewhere if she looks thru as am i and alot of other people. I've never done anything to Shad so banning me wouldnt really prove a point and banning people based on assumptions of a conspiracy wouldnt really do right by anyone in SL either. Venues need to work together not fight and when something like this comes along it squashes any attempts to do that. Thinking someone is involved is 1 thing knowing they are is a completely different matter and requires far more proof then Hey that person has this person in their profile. I wont be banning anyone without proof nor will I ever.

Im Sad to see Piranha go as it was a great venue in SL and one of the only places i truly felt competed with Republik and its sad to see one of the great venues go.

This will be my last entry for some time until I know further regarding investiation that will take place. I will be conducting this in appropriate fashion & not disclosing names publicly unless safe and appropriate to do so.

Surely you do not remember me. I was associated with thes aussies from Overdrive. Maybe you do remember now.
As a matter of fact, your telling about your former problems with your club that time, shows how other grudging individuals acted almost the same way, like it happened now with Shad and her club.

So the conclusions of Shad might not be that absurd, as it may sound. Jealousy and greed seems to be the main issue behind all that.

I do not see any demerit, that we learn about the background of this sad events behind the scene.
As a community here in SL we all should know, what kind of bad things some people do, and what does it hurt to know about this?

There may be more behind all that, then just simply griefing.
We all want to have an alternate live here, without the limitations and circumstances, which we do encounter in RL. Obviously some people do not share this and follow their same stupid desires for power, ego and money as they do in their petty RL. To point that out here, is just the right way. To reveal the nature behind some acting idiots, may contribute for us all, to adress these problems in a better way next time.

I know, all that may sound lofty. But then again, do we want a second live here, or not? And do we want to support people like Shad, who undoubtedly created something very alternative to RL.

For me its obvious, that there are some people, who simply do not share the idea of having success without greed, jealousy and a shiny ego. Or that they discovered their own insufficient skills to do the same.

I encourage a healthy investigation of all those that may be involved. I do not think that their identities should be made public. though until a proper intervention by linden labs.
The club was a very beautiful place and many people built solid and lasting friendships and even umm love relationships. Straight people were welcome, bisexuals were welcome. Gay dudes and chicks were welcome. furries were welcome to party. aliens. Reptiles. Wolves and even pretty wild out there transvestites/drag queens were welcome to party and dance without the fear of being harrassed or intimidated. Shad raffke is a wonderful person that I will rave about for all of time. She is not manipulative nor harsh or even brutal. She has qualities that are present in highly intelligent people. Any idiot can play rock music over and over but a very small percentage of people in this world can handle the turntables and mixer. and do well. Many people turn their hard earned lindens over to the DJ's at the club because the music is celestial and interdimensional. It involves a world of music that is unique and loving and all about the PLUR nevermind the fact that we may see trouble in the world ....nevermind the fact that the Lindens may appear a bit stand offish. I have a great respect for Shad and Linden labs for providing us with a venue that offers creative expression and individual harmony. Some days you could walk into the club and not talk to anybody and just dance and listen to music and not have to worry about what your wearing or how your dancing. and other days you could dance the night away pumping out the gestures and the particle effects and chatting with like minded people all you want. I myself being an out there and proud gay guy and drag queen. Found acceptance and love at this venue and there are not many places I can go in SL looking like a male princess ladyboi. I always found that in other clubs that are out there that I would be harrassed and made fun of and attacked for being who I truely am. I love life and live it how I want and Do not feel that attacks by a very small percentage of those that claim to be apart of the culture should close a club forever. I do feel that maybe the club should have a pay to enter door...and also a very visible anti griefer ops service take over and release some of the troubles that have been tickling these great people that own the club. They are a peaceful bunch ....really wicked people....I know they will be given a great amount of success in the Second life universe because they offer things that nobody else can offer. They offer all of us a place to feel the love and beauty that exists in the world. I know that shad and psygate and the DJ's at the club will be very successful in the future. I can see it now. They were not manipulative. Let these griefers and idiots fail miserably at what they do nobody really gives them the time of day anyway. By giving them power over you and letting them delight in the fact that they have instituded a breakdown of a very exceptional music venue is sad in itself. Well thanks for reading this as it is the opinions of an 11 month old raver in SL and I hope that everything will pick up where it left off with enhancements built in to insure the safety and security of all thos that party in venues like this. If it so happens that the club has to remain closed I support shad and everyone else in all that they do and I will be thinking of them years in the future.

Cirque Mystique is the club i work and host a party every friday. We never get griefed or attacked cause we counter every try with a friendly invite and some chat.
Keep that in mind, Shad, for every troubled relationship it needz two peepz, and u catch way more flies with sum honey!

I really have no time to get involved with stupidly ridiculous slanging matches (although i'l admit its hilarious to watch), I can only once more heartily agree that it's a shame Pirahna has to close it's doors.

And to Raver Xeno: I think you summed up pirahna very well - good post. Again I would encourage everyone to keep the happy memories and leave it at that.

Piranha was a cool club that had a great variety of Clubbers and DJ's... I might have only been there for a short time, but it was fun.. I am truly sad to see a great club go down the gurgler for whatever reasons...

I also have to say that Shad is also not the happy go lucky flower child either...I am not going to go in specifics, but her words and manner can leave much to be desired at times...I am not so sure that she did not bring this on her self in some way.

Once again, I am truly sorry that Piranha is gone..(and this is from a DJ that Shad fired)

Ok I think this has gone from a discussion about the problem of controlling grief in your club or parcel to just an all out personal vendetta. I think all the 5h!T has been slung, no more ammo. Piranha is going to be gone, we all need to accept that. Conspiracies, terrorist, killers oh my! I think 90% of this is miscommunication, and unwillingness to understand RL situations are intertwined with SL and most of the time (at least in my case) RL is more seriously and wins over SL. Anyway... I still love you all, even the "culprits", and Shad I hope your R&R heal any wounds SL has created. Piranha was great, the griefers were great, and any other problems with SL are great!
