Club Piranha Forced To Close

Close down, go ahead, then the Terror..er... griefers win! They want you to close, they want to feel big and powerful. Griefing happens. It's happened to every club lately. Carnage was attacket, 138's been attacked, Sanctuary's been kinda attacked, you're just in line. Griefers attack wherever they want. Maybe a griefer was there and you said something to make him mad, thus he get all his friends on you. It simply happens. Set your land to no build, that's the main way they do it. Get security to check your place. You see suspicious activity, send them out there, the griefer will run. Don't buy into their attacks, just take it in stride, and keep on truckin.

As for pointing blame at people, wether you know it was them or not, you only make yourself look stupid. You know who did it, temp-ban them until you can talk to them. If they won't talk, make it perma ban. Life goes on, you rock on, griefers go "ADFLJAKHDLJASK!" and eventually move on to another club.

Call me cynical, but this weekend will show whether this is real, or if you really are that manipulative as people say.

Wow I am reading the responses and wondering is this about a club in a virtual world, or the epitaph of a person. I guess I take the grief thing with a grain of salt, I am just amazed at how personal it all is becoming. The calling out of the first letter of a person's SL name? Seems a bit extreme. One thing is for sure this game will always keep me amazed, that's the great part about Secondlife.

Yes indeed, I do own Sanctuary Rock, and as a club owner I sympathize with you. The difference between you and I is that I don't take anything personal. shrugs.

Being paranoid that people care enough about you in this world to drive you to close your club is sad. Time to step away from the pc for a bit perhaps.

Daisy...the difference between you and Shad is your lag of imagination and passion. PIRANHA never needed any welcome shouters, nor any sploder to attract people. It simply had its own atmosphere, created by people who loves to listen some good SELF MADE mixes and the good company. Quality goes before quantity, something, the big clubs never realized.

Your forensic analysis does lag many facts. For the most it lags the feeling. actually I wonder, if it should be you, who steps away from the PC for a while.

Shrugs. I'm not here to argue over lag hon. It's a huge issue in SL. We all know that.

After reading these 3 pages of text, I'm amazed at all the accusations going back and forth. This is SHAD's decision, we dont' know what is or isn't true, it's all heresay from many people! I know all the individuals "involved" and have heard 10 sides of the story. Shad, if you feel these "griefers" are too much, then close the club down. Piranha is and will stay a great place in SL or in memory. There is no need to harass any individuals for it's closing, no need to gather a lynch-mob to find their Alt Names etc.

I've seen Piranha grow from the ground up, and the establishment is a great venue for DJ's to go and show their abilities, and fans to enjoy these fresh mixes of awesome Electronic music. If it seizes to exists then so be it, another venue will rise from the ashes of Piranha (after all, many good DJ's, producers, land owners have been a part of Piranha) and prosper as the next "Priemiere Rave Experience" club. Lets all put our personal beliefs, assumptions, and hatred aside. Lets see what happens and go from there. Another thing, I dont' think this is a publicity stunt, and KNOW Shad would not do this if she didn't feel she had to. Love you all and hope for the best.

i also built up many clubs, and i knew i had to change within 2 month what i built up, that was all part of the game.

Daisy do me a favor by sparing the speculation of "the difference between you and I." We have never met, and you don't know the first thing about me. The fact that you have yet to lend anything constructive and that is not a shrouded insult suggests you are the one who needs time away from the PC.

Yeah, you're right ... A wise advice..let's do nothing, same reaction when ppl get mugged infront of you I'm sure. Let's sit on our ass and be nostalgic.

Agreeing with Jungle, in full support and respect of Shad to make a decision based on what she feels is best. Piranha was a place for all to come, enjoy, express their art... and support each other in it. SL is a platform of such expression, and yes Daisy, some negative applies. But in any world we are driven by choices to make it better or worse for all. It is so disappointing and angering to think that a handful of people can take destructive action to ruin something so good... for so many... Personal harassment is never OK... and it is so regretful to think that Shad has had to deal with this for months in order to keep our Piranha strong and beautfiul for all of us. At first reaction we think, "gi ving in" "letting others win", but there is a lot to be said for moving on, rebuilding, and taking the good things we have all experienced together into the broader world and trying again.
Thanks to all who contributed to the Piranha experience i ran home to again and again. At my first visit i decided to work there, and loved every minute. The vibe we all create there can be carried on in SL and otherwise... Hallicunogirl still reigns in my heart... and will not be conquered. That is what matters. Sad the club is closed... new horizons we can all look forward to. those of us who have been in closed down warehouse parties in RL know we can always get our groove on where we want to... see ya on the dancefloor ravers!!! peace n love. I started a club on mainland in 2005. We were griefed at one point for 11 hours by the Voted5. They used the Linden Road in front of the venue to continue the attack without stepping on our land. This sort of thing going in day after day is enough to make anyone throw up their hands in disgust and quit. We moved to a private island to have more control over our environment. You club sounds excellent and I hope after a break from the chaos you bring it back. Good Luck.

I admit utilizing this forum for some agendas, but in ways far different you suspect. I will elaborate.

First this was best way for me to answer questions of many rather than needing to re-tell the story over and over again through IMs from those asking.

Second it was my "socially acceptale" way of "fighting back." However, I would add that I would never disclose the names of the involved parties in this format.

Third I had hoped just one single person would draw the connection and label that my griefers were "STALKERS", and that this forum would focus in on that and provide a chance to influence good policy change to be implemented from above in the SL ranks. I beat around the bush at this many times and waited patiently for someone to do this. Clearly I have not mastered manipulation so well.

4 months + same people = STALKERS.

In 4 months time, not once did I ever go seek them out and create problems in any places they go, nor did I ever attempt to pit others against them by badmouthing them. They always showed at up at PIRANHA where they knew I would be, and were first to insult or attack.

Those who truly know me are aware that I am neither meek or timid in character. To be quite honest I find stalkers to be pathetic. I have to laugh because these particular individuals are suposedly ???adults???. I would be more concerned if such people had any of my RL personal information. Fortunately they do not, and here on the GRID they dont scare me and I have no fear of them. It was not even particularly hard to restrain myself from launching counter-attacks against such impertinent people. To their credit I will admit they succeeded very well at being aggravating.


I thank everyone in this forum who has been supportive of both PIRANHA and me. I am both lucky and honored to have so many friends.

well... stalking is reality... and so are easy profile searches, friends. Pathetic how those who contribute to destruction can brush it off so easily. Daisy, you can see from all our reactions that something meaningful is lost... this is our forum... those who swing from the wrecking ball have no place here.

This discovery further suggests how widespread this problem is, and I cannot help but to wonder if potentially other club owners are actively involved in intentional attacks against other SL Clubs.

Following the trail of profile pics....I have yet made further discovery that the griefer/stalker avie that intentionally crashed the sim Monday night also owns an SL club!!!

like i said fcuking griefers; landbarons or otherwise. doom on you!

Before accusing anyone of anything you should really contact LL and find out who indeed crashed your sim. Or, perhaps, at the time, you could have used the tools you have to find out who it was griefing your sim.

Please, by all means report me to Linden Labs, file an abuse report, whatever it is you feel you need to do. I haven't and have never griefed anywhere in SL, and your accusing me is an act of defamation.

Your employees hun! They represent your club! And obvious you seeded in here as a mole. Enough said.

And dont worry, I will be contacting LL. And I will likely be going public with all the names & associated clubs in due time.

Once again, your information is incorrect. They are not employees. If they were employees they would be in my staff groups, not my land groups.

I was stalked by one of Shad's alts, which is why I was brought into this. Never been to her club, never spoke to her, but because I am in my friends profiles, she chose to mess with me.

I will ALWAYS defend my friends.
