Given how slow they are, you may want to consider certified mail and snail-mail them a formal complaint. Maybe if everyone suffering from it snail-mails them, they'll get swamped with enough paper to make them wish they'd paid attention to their emails and phones. (Note: I said certified, so you know they received it.) Make it look official or if you have a lawyer friend who doesn't mind, have them write it up with all the legalese. Explain each step you took and what it met with. Detail your displeasure in polite tones and what you want done to remedy the situation. Also, if enough USD is involved, you may want to escalate it to formally contracting a lawyer and discussing your options. To find the address, look here at http://lindenlab.com/contactYou may want to mail two copies, one to Char, who is the head of Liaisons and the other to Robin. I've found Char to be very helpful when it comes down to cases. Hey, you might even try IMing her in world and see what happens.

From: mcgeeb Gupte Thanks for the idea, but selling on those isn't as good as the regular Lindex for value.
Edit: I just checked and its a 40 dollar difference on the SLexchange Linden exchange. I'm not selling on there just because LL is asleep and not fixing things. I havent checked but.... selling or buying on different exchange should be exactly the same if you include all commission fees. It it wasn' t so, you could earn money just by buying lindens on the exchange with lower rate and selling on the other ( a procedure called in financial terms "arbitrage"

I'm having the same problem too for at least 2 weeks now, and I have contacted LL by email several times. I received this answer earlier today: "The billing and trading limits now reflect the billing age of the account the first time it is billed. It does not reflect the account age anymore. "Days" in the New Resident limits description refers to days since first billing transaction with Linden Lab." I joined SL in June last year and upgraded to an annual Premium account in March, for which they used the USD balance instead of my creditcard (at the time I had enough money on that one to cover the costs of an annual account). I'm wondering if that is why I'm degraded to a New resident 0-1 days. All I know is that it is beginning to frustrate me that I cannot buy or sell Linden dollars anymore.

Does this mean that free membership accounts can no longer buy more than US$10 and sell no Lindens as they do not get billed? I have been effected by this "change" and cannot sell Lindens. As I use my income from Second Life to subsidise my bills and rent in real life, this is most frustrating. I've put a vote and commented on Second Life Support. Perhaps you all can do this too.

I've put a vote and commented on Second Life Support. Perhaps you all can do this too. It appears the 'account lifespan' is being calculated from the moment the account is billed first time for any amount, i.e. the 'payment means' they provide in their account data is charged. This doesn't necessarily mean having to have premium account, just buying any amount of L$ or using 'increase credit' function _once_ is enough. To check it, i've used the 'increase credit' option to make the system charge my CC for 25 USD... my profile data changed from 'payment info on file' to 'payment info used' or whatever it is, and 24+ hours later my resident limit moved from "0 to 1 days" to "2 to 13 days" one... so am guessing it will now slowly get back to where it was, the resident level 1 once the 4 weeks since that transaction passes o.O It's still quite frustrating but well, apparently possible to fix automatically this way ^^;

Still no update. I've tried the phone, but after 10 minutes or so of holding, I get voice mail promising to respond. I still have not heard back via the Request a Review, Support Line, nor JIRA.
Second Life is so disappointing these days.

Apparently Linden Lab has changed the system for buying and selling limits, so that the levels you are in are determined by the date of the first transaction made with LL, not the date you signed up for Second Life.
What worked for me as well is to use the payment method you specified (e.g. creditcard) to buy Lindens. A day after I did that (I bought 3 USD worth of Linden dollars) my level 0 to 1 days went up and I'm in the 2 to 13 days range now.
In this case I think LL should have communicated this change better (I cannot recall having received a message of this change in the past), as for most SL residents buying and selling Linden dollars is very much part of their SL lives.

This morning when I've logged in I've found my limits were increased to the Resident Level 1 limits! I can sell again! They've closed the issue on the bug tracking system but have left it with the following comment from WorkingOnIt Linden: As part of our ongoing work on improving transactional integrity for our Residents, the tier system was recently changed:
» https://secondlife.com/currency/describe-limits.php
The new Resident tiers no longer advance automatically based on age, but first successful date with LL. We apologize for any inconvenience.
I've forwarded the names who've commented here and the linked forum thread to our billing experts. If your name isn't on here and you'd like to have this corrected, please use:

Wow! That's faster than I expected! I just sent them that exact request yesterday! Or...maybe it because so many of us have been doing the same... But, it has impressive result anyway, to me.
Thanks, LL ^^

You would think "part of ongoing work on improving transactional integrity" would include ensuring that tiers of restidents that *aren't* new remain at their current level rather than get reset with introduction of new system, especially when their "first successful date" with LL happened quite some months ago. But guess why bother when "we apologize for any inconvenience" is so much easier to type --;;

After reading this i finally understand how the system worked, i had been sending tickets 1-2 months back, all that Linden did was to tell me is to give them my RL name, address, and telephone number. I have even updated to use verified paypal account and Linden never explained to me why i am not allow to change my trading limited. Anyway i do not like to give such information to company unless it is from bank or govt sectors. In the past my information have been passed to marketing and insurance companies , and i do not like it, as i do not know Linden will protect such data or not.

Yes. Just bought a dollar worth of linden from the in-game interface. And wait for a couple of days, your trading limit should start raising
