Thanks muchly, Chip! I haven't even tried to make custom clothes yet, it always seems *way* too difficult. These should be great for experimenting and learning with. So nice of you to do this for everybody!

Chip you should be ashamed of your self. You can almost always expect SOMEONE to say something snarky and rude (and in this case, misinformed... by CHOICE no less, in having chosen not to read the entire post...) whenever someone else does something nice. I just want to take a second to say thanks, Chip - not all of us missed that IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR POST ... and not all of us completely lack appreciation for what you've done BEYOND those first things. Thanks very much, for everything. My clothes designs are slowly improving thanks to your very helpful templates. |

Hmm Ya know what I think Was somewhere stated that uh ya these are in linden section, and Chip darlin You open the linden ones up with photoshop they give you all the layers almost exactly as you have them posted so hun you didn't do anything new Photoshop gives them in layers so darlin stop taken credit for what you didn't do All you did is some spliceing to make them look better and I have to say any of you that are falling for thias need to look at the linden ones in PS cus um he did nothin new. Btw Chip your claiming you made these can you tell me how on earth you configured on the angles and 3d things nessicary to see how somethin will fit over the SL avatar body seeing as you are only a player and NOT a linden and are in no way able to disect the game or even do anything in which would make it capable for you to make the templates, and one last word people just cus a BIG name says he made somethin doesn't mean he did it makes him only more able to steal credit for somethin others put hard work into doin to make are wanting to make clothes easier I.E the lindens. Chip you should be ashamed of your self. [eh chip is right, I've been in a bad mood lately and that was uncalled for] But ever since i've known chip I've known him for making only the highest quality stuf, and something like that was uncalled for even more. _____________________

Shepra was entitled to the opinion and I can understand how it could have been viewed that way. No harm done. We all have our snarky days. I know I do! Actually, the day I decided to release my templates I was having a really rotten day and was in a very bad mood. I figured if I finally got off my arse and posted them then all you wonderful people would cheer me up. All this time later, you're still doing it. I'm thrilled everyone's finding them so useful. I think I got the better half of the deal!

Wow, wow, and, well, WOW.
Thanks so much for these templates! They are going to make things soooo much better when designing! Wish I had found them a day earlier, they would have saved me about $L100 in upload cost on a bathing suit i just made! (coulda bought one for that price ) Your crotch lines almost match exactly the ones i eventually worked out-- I like my crotch parts a little wider, modesty you know .I know I'm a little late posting to this thread, but I just did a search on the Forum for template, and voila, there they were! So, thanks again! |

Chip you should be ashamed of your self. im pretty sure that all the templates he has posted have had all kinds of different types of custom grids, color coding, and measurements..the newest ones i belive he used 3dsm and converted to2d in the right dimensions....you must have lost touch with reality somewhere between sl and your bedtime because you're obviously delirious to make assumptions and accusations twards something GIVEN in kindness to help develop a skill...shouldnt you be playing singles or something like that. |

Oh yes darlin I seen those - Your original ones however are IMHO more noobie-friendly

This Might sound noob like but it is
. Im just starting out in this design stuff and these Templates are really going to help a lot thanks Chip. Okie now for the Noob question An undershirt vs a top when I upload it to SL how does it know whats what? As you can guess Im really new and just working in Photo Shop is hard enough. 2nd If I paint say just a small area on another layer over the template of the top then will the other part be transparent? Thanks for any help anyone can offer. Im hoping designing will make SL a little more exciting then it has been for me. |

Shirts vs undershirts

Suzzee, when you go into appearance and make a shirt, you choose shirt or undershirt. You then drag your newly uploaded texture into the texture box.
There are a lot of 'freebie' bras floating around SL that really are shirts. They were saced as a shirt then named "bra." You can wear only one shirt at a time. So if you have a shirt named "bra you can't wear a bra. Jen |
