Well, see, it really sucks because what happens is, Philip Rosedale comes to their houses, right, and he's always packing heat and carrying a bigass backpack. Some days he'll go all out and it'll be a Kalashnikov. Other times he's phoning it in and only comes with a 9mm. In any case, what he does is, he comes to their houses and puts the barrel of his piece right up against their temple.

Really.

Now I reached the stable point where dont need to buy their gomi objects and my income is enough to pay my tier. You get to see me online until my premium membership expires next year. To the residents that do not like me, go to Dell!

Why don't you just say 'garbage' I mean the sentiment is the same no matter the word.

You need to get a better monitor like a Sony or even a Samsung!

I have worked with Dells and there is not a worse computer on the market! My private computer is An Azus motherboard, an AMD dual core processor and a Gitabyte 6600 dual processor PCI express card. It rocks!Oh I have a Samsund moniter.

I will get a Dell when Okinawa freezes over!

It places emphasis on the word.

Just hanging out today. Too sick in Real Life to do anything.

It seems a lot of people are having these thoughts of leaving. I personally don't blame them. But im sticking around. I'm not one to quit on something. I just never finish. :P

One of my friends Mass IMed everyone on her Friends List mentioning she was leaving for good. THis is a person i known a long time and liked. Even DJed for me a few times and played as family. :/

I think the reason she left was drama related. But still i will miss her. Some people feel forgotten or unloved without realising how many people really do care for them.

I will be around for awhile. Will not buy any more Lindens. It really is play money and my hobby will have to stand alone without me putting more good dollars toward bad.

A better world thru user created content
04-23-2006 19:25
Some in this thread said that the magic of Second Life, and why it's worth the high price, is because it allows, actually demands user created content.

This is a really great concept and I hope it spreads to other services.
I, for one, am looking forward to a lengthy stay in a 5-star hotel where I have to perform my own housekeeping, cook my own meals (and charge me extra for bringing the yet-to-be-cooked food up to my room), and maybe even let me clean the pool.

Heck, maybe they'll let me build the pool and pay dearly for the privilege. At least I can charge the other guests a little bit to let them swim in the pool that I don't really own. There's a career there in pool building. If I'm good at it, they will put my picture on the cover of Business Week!

After all, if they provided the empty room and electricity, what's the gripe?

It takes skill to miss the point with such utter thoroughness . Kudos.

I had wished there was someway you could act naturally and spontaneously in your relation with other people, but sadly this is impossible. You can't even hug someone or holding hands, much less cuddle up and caress without paddling furiously through your inventory, or clicking and cycling through the right position on a sofa, in order to find the correct animation or gesture etc.

As much as I love SL, I agree with this and I think it's something that should be addressed if LL wants to keep players who come to socialize.

that's the funniest thing I've read in a week. A fine blend of Hunter Thompson and Ken Kesey with just a touch of Alice's Restaurant. Five stars and a kewpie doll!

The problem with trolls is that they regenerate after you kill them. The only way to truly get rid of them is with fire. Maybe they should have a new corn field for trolls but instead just have it a big volcano pit instead of corn...
That's it, put them all in a giant volcano and BLOW IT UP WITH H-BOMBS!

I have no intention of leaving hehe. It would take a lot to get me to leave SL. I Beta Test stuff all the time and I'm used to bugs and crashes. I'm also used to being treated like grain of salt in the ocean. I'm also used to being ignored. Sometimes being ignored can be fun though. Allows you to get away with stuff. >:-)

The fact is that SL is the very first online world i have actaully gained from. When i played Anarchy Online, EverQuest, and others, all i got was a money drain... I spent lots on games that only satisfied me for a short while. When i found SL i found myself MAKING money. I don't see SL as a game though. SL has given me abilities that no game can give me. Where else can you create something out of your own imagination out of thin air?

Close to Leaving RL for Good

Two things about real life have bothered me from the start.

First - the idiotic economy. If I don't work, no one pays me. So there is the all pervasive hang up on the "work" or don't eat or have a home thing. It really sucks. Why can't i just hang out and still have all the fab things my heart desires?

Second- I wish there was a way i could act however i wanted. If i wanted to smack someone randomly on the street, for instance. I would have to waste time later fumbling around with the police and jail time. Or if i wanted to, say, have a mad makeout session with Natalie Portman-I would have to first stalk her THEN get past her body guards and, once again, fumble around with the police and into the pokey. Why can't someone have Natalie show up at my doorstep scantily clad?...sheesh.

I mean, i know RL is cool and all, and i am not knocking the creators- I know we have come a long way from the primordial ooze. I just think they could have provided us with some sort of magic wands, fairy godmothers or at the very least a nose wiggle a la Samantha Stevens sorta thing. Trial and error, i guess.

Anyway, just had to get that out. I probably won't leave RL since i have invested so much time, energy and money into it already.

Another funny post Versu *claps*

I cant imagine me wanting to leave SL either. I cant imagine a metaverse/game/experiance/playround/platform anywhere that offers nearly as much as you get here, and mostly, for FREE.

A virtual world, where you can do virtualy anything you want, for virtualy nothing :) I should send LL a love letter sometime :)

Watch your tongue.

Besides, "bathes in Nair, sponges off, showers, ..." doesn't have the same dramatic effect.

And don't forget, it's all about style.

Especially for toons.
