Will people complain when Havok 2 or HTML is released?

I know. I recognized it. And gave as witty a comeback as I could.
You're feelin' a mite poorly today, then?

Actually, Havok and Html if either one was implemented, I'd be content, but being here for 3 years waiting to see if it would actually happen, well, there's a reason why I'm discontent.

Well, you know what they say, "If you can do better, prove it!" Which is to say, work up your own demo model and send it to LL along with a resume. >;)

Yeah so they can steal my idea and claim it as their own? No.

You do know that you, as the original writer of the code, can sue LL if they did that right? Or you can send a copy to a bonded third party at the same time as proof of ownership. We're talking business here folks, of course you don't act in a vaccum unless you can demo your work in person with your own equipment.

Yes. They will.

LL could announce, completely accurately, that "Everything is fine, nothing is broken, and we just added the ability to give residents money, kittens, or chocolate pie of their choice for free".

People would immediately complain that more wasn't being done to supply free stuff to those with allergies to kittens, money, and things not being broken. And what the hell is up with the pie, that was a TOTALLY unnecessary feature. There are more important things to focus on! Like true sapient AI!

I think the "things not being broken" complaint is most telling. People -- at least certain types of them -- are addicted to having things to complain about. Stridently pointing out flaws and griping about changes they dislike makes them feel like they are terribly important and/or notable for their far-reaching vision and insight, in much the same fashion as running around and shouting "I told you so, I told you so!" makes third graders feel good.

Actually, now that I think about it, the two may, in fact, be the same thing.
