Uhhh tell me this is BS, or you mean you just accidently deleted it. There is no excuse for spending RL money only to have stuff removed because somebody screws up on hte other end. I agree yet, if you read the dreaded LL TOS Agreement you will see that there isn't anything you can do to protect your interests in their grid. If it's lost, it stays lost. |

Roughly speaking, the "Asset Server" is the machine (or database) that holds all the objects people have in their inventory.

talk about relieved..nothing was lost WHEW!!!..is there a way to save our inventory and looks or a file that saves our char??something like a backup folder we can make that we can just drop back in if we do lose things??

With just having come back to SL after 3 months offline because of being literally homeless, and losing 85% of my real life possessions, losing a few pixels and bits of code in a game is just sooooooo trivial.
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but maybe a reality check is needed for a lot of folks on SL. Try restarting your life from scratch, and you will know what I mean. Hugs _____________________

Jeezus! I have things to do and people to meet...was in the middle of preparations for an event that happens tomorrow, if we can get in tomorrow. Are there reimbursements for down time to paid accounts? Reimbursements in SL for items LL's aset system lost or money they lost? ROFLMMFAO......yeah they get it from Bugs Bunny Linden.LOL |

Oh, i can't resist this... I saw a pic of the asset server and I have to say, at least they picked the 'most successful computer'....  (it's a joke! please forgive me...) LOL No wonder. They back everything up on floppies! The entire database is filled with SID Music.  Also you uncovered LL's horrible Secret. The entire thing is programmed in Basic! XD _____________________

I keep losing my pose balls, what is the deal with that?? Just a certain couple too. I leave them out on my land and they've disappeared twice now. I also lost my entire folder of jeans, thankfully I can just buy them from myself. How come none of this is backed up on another server so if one gets messed up, the other one can put it back where it belongs. This is one of the reasons why I make everything copy. That way if a customer has this happen to them, I will gladly give them another copy. It's not just pixels when it involves real life money.
