Dear LL, while you are there for gods sakes PLEASE fix the rez/lag related problems on island sims. I textured some hair today and it was still grey when I got back from eating a very nice pork chop salad. This problem has been going on for days. If you want Second Life to continue as an ecomony make it a priority to let us actually get something done. Thanks!

I'm not sure why everyone is upset that the Lindens closed the Grid. So fix the asset server. I would much rather that than going back to find that I now own nothing as it all got lost. Or even all the things I have bought in the past few days.
Fact is... the Lindens know that there have been issues. Everyone has reported some serious bugs since the last update. Huge clue that something was mmmm... frigged up. So I am grateful they called the grid down I would rather come back and have some of the items I cherish than lose it all I wouldn't do their job in a million years. It is one of those non gratifying jobs in most cases as we always have something to complain about. So thanks Lindens for trying to save our assets for another day. |

Has anyone actually got a log of down time against uptime ? I curious - have we actually passed the point where downtime is now greater than uptime - or are they still running a close race ? ( That's my chicken little entry - now i'm off to read a book ) I've kept a pretty good mental log of the last 2 weeks, and the down tiem has bene about 10%. Nowhere near more down tiem than up time. This includes the last two system updates, and their random complete grid shitdowns, and their random sim reboots, and any other stupid reason they've been down. |

What will happen
08-08-2006 15:09
I had EVERYTHING in my lot selected in edit mode and left my computer for 1 minute to grab some notes from the kitchen table. What will happen to everything on my lot?

God i hope we have everything there....and my look ..god i'll never get that back again..it took forever and a day to get the way i wanted.. i would think there is some kind of backup they have for this they can put our stuff back if it is gone ...i hope anyways... That is my worry too Ceka. I can deal with losing clothes and items and other things I can repurchase. But the look of my avatar will be impossible to recreate. Using edit appearance I fine tuned my avatar to get the shape, etc just right. And some of the things I purchased to get my look (hair, skin, etc) are not available any more (I looked trying to get backup copies and they are gone). |

No you are right but they do try to bring us a better quality life for our second life. And the fact is it is a computer world... internet world which puts everything at risk as there are many a hacker etc that crave ruining things for others. Welcome to the wonderful world of the net. |

I'd rather lose my last few hours work than the contents of my inventory. Not a choice I'd like to make, but at least most of what I did today is reasonably fresh in my memory.

I've lost many a things in my time in SL, and I've only been here since Oct 2005. You'll get used to it. ![]() Uhhh tell me this is BS, or you mean you just accidently deleted it. There is no excuse for spending RL money only to have stuff removed because somebody screws up on hte other end. |

Why cant LL make it so we can save our inventory locally? Because then it wouldn't be on LL's servers and they couldn't steal your legal rights to it. _____________________
