ok, I think we're both agreed that the US standards on sax and violins is a little screwy, but as long as the current status quo holds, it makes sense for LL to toe the legal lines and not make waves about it. And if that means coming down hard on near-violations of the law with ageplay, I guess that's the way it has to be.

Near voilatons are not the same thing as violations. "Innocent untill proven guilty..."
I hope that LL realises this, and will not suspend people on the fact that they're acting and looking like children, while the person behind the PC is adult. And in fact, I don;'t believe they'll want to, as it will mean they will lose a lot of paying customers.
But my problem is not with Linden labs, but with all the people who scream for banning of said adults who only pretend to be children, for whatever reasons they may have: they simply don't have the right to decide which fantasies anyone wants to act out on SL... Wether it be ageplay or anything else that's seen as socially unacceptible by most people.
Would *any* judge in the US convict any adult for having pretend sex with another consenting adult, pretending to be an underage person?
I think the real legal issues are not the problem here, but more all of the ageplay haters personal preferences...
They cry out for the Lindens to not allow it, simply because *they* see it as wrong. it as only wrong in theory, just as it's wrong in theory if an avatar shoots another avatar with a virtual gun... Cause in both cases, it would mean jailtime for you if you did it in real life, but this is not real life. No real children are molested and scarred for life from SL ageplay, nor does anyone die in real life from SL shootings... it's all pretend. No actual RL laws are broken. There's no photographs of RL children in sexual situations, there's no video footage of RL children being molested. There's only computer generated imagery of child *looking* avatars... all the unlawful stuff is purely in the minds of those involved in ageplay.
SL is all about doing the things you cannot, or would not do in RL. Let's keep it that way...
My point, simply put is this:
If you feel that ageplay is wrong because it is wrong to rape children in RL, why aren't you also crying out to stop shooting at AV's in SL, Vore in SL, zoophilia in SL, enslaving people in SL, dropping nukes in SL, public sex in SL, derpicting adult imagery in public in SL, medical experimentation on humans in SL, suffication/stragulation in SL, autopsy's by unqualified personell in SL, Snuff in SL, Piracy (the "Arr, Matey!" kind yes..) in SL, belonging to a criminal organistation in SL, speeding in SL *(and running people over), flying below 50 ft in SL, raping adult AV's in SL, trespassing in SL, and all those other things that will definately get you jailed in RL by the US legal system? Or even, oh my Gosh, GIVING A BJ on sl? (AS THAT'S ALSO ILLEGAL in some US states... even in the state that produces the most porn in the whole country!)
The answer is simple: cause you *personally*, don't see any problems with that.
Why, let's go ahead and make Second Life just as pioliced and regulated as RL in the US. Sure a LOT of people will want to play a game, that is no different from RL in what you can and cannot do.
Great idea...
(PS: when I said "You personally"I did not only aim at Warda, but at *everyone* who has a problem with ageplay.)
