If the grid was taking down that fast it most have been a attack..........
We were getting some really bad Dil and frames times in Mcfee...........I was about to call LLabs. Then BAM!

I think that's more of a generic message. I think they would have warned us before pulling the plug if it was a planned outage.

I was getting some really bad packet losses earlier. First time I had bad loss it was like 9.2 or something close to that. Today it was almost that high again and then SL crashes. It's my pc's fault, something MUST be wrong with it... no wait... it's my connection that's bad because I'm only getting packet loss in SL.

Who are they trying to fool again??

I haven't had power outages here in Austin, but the server where I work went down for about 4 hours today.

Oh man.. don't ask me about the server that went down where I work.. and the results of a server going down 8-minutes before a show. That happened to me at work tonight... we survived, but it was ugly.

Ok we know things happen but come on as a well seasoned person in the IT industry this is just amazingly sad. How can this grid be down this much? Are there refunds coming? Come on...!!

So... I think we should wager on who gets back into SL first, and lives to post the inevitable "SL is UP!" thread... I put L$10 on it (yes, not worth much to me, but claim the cash via IM in-world)

Yes i crashed or was logged out 20min right before the crash. Wel i thought it was me too. but i am on a 100m fiber line and its stable. then bam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the crash.......not the computer , not the line.......... its the game inself

Interesting... I also have a background in the IT field, but I'm smart enough to realize when you have an architecture this dynamic, and that a user has so much ability to manipulate through creating scripts and other things, its bound to happen.

I did get a report of www.secondlife.com failing (not working) about 10-15 minutes prior to the entire grid going offline)

I noticed a lot of pple on my friends list getting logged out about 20 minutes before the crash too. I didn't get logged, but I saw them all go offline one by one and prepared myself for crashing (heh, yeah I'm wondering wtf I mean too...I prepared myself MENTALLY, lol).

Nope I don't use wireless. And it was determined the first time that the packet losses were due to something with SL and not my pc or my connection. Second time was due to my modem going out. New modem, no problems until today. I'm on Cox cable btw. Business account which doesn't get the bandwidth residential does but still it would not cause the enourmous packet loss I get ONLY in SL.
