I'll never get off SL now. I just hope she can move on and find a happy and meaningful life. |

I hope it will use the same version of the browser engine as firefox 1.5, making textures in javascript with the new canvas element would be really cool. I wonder how laggy it would be though.

Not sure if I'm missing something but that slide that there's a picture of on another thread says that the OpenGL browser will be released to the open source community in the "next several weeks" with integration into SL to follow. So presumably that's not in the "next several weeks"?

When I hear "follow" I think "soon". I find it depends on who's saying "follow" In the case of LL I'd say "follow" might not mean "soon", because it very rarely seems to. Still, it will be great when it does arrive, whether that's sooner or later._____________________

I'll believe it when I see it. Didn't you see the screen? It was a wavy HTML page. ![]() _____________________

Does this open the door to animated "Impeach George Bush" signs?

Ok Ok... Hype aside, if they knew HTML was "so close" to being out, why did they choose to move so seemingly quickly on getting the Infonet at every former telehub location and not wait it out until HTML hits?

https://sourceforge.net/projects/mozgl/
From readme.txt A simple application that demonstrates one way to embed an instance of the Mozilla Gecko rendering engine into an application and grab the output of a page after it has been rendered. It is based in part on lessons learned as part of my day job at Linden Lab (http://lindenlab.com) - we make a persistent 3D, multi-user world called Second Life (http://secondlife.com). |

Hi, Hiro.
![]() I'm a bit fuzzy on the HTML on a prim method this seems to employ. So this would be a fully functional browser? If so, then this could be rather helpful in a LOT of ways, especially if it supported PHP(One of my other favorites. ).It would be very helpful to have it communicate with SL using commandline options into a PHP script's address line. Great way to dump data into a MySQL database. Might finally be able to get a product registration service put together for my customers. ![]() Hrm. Scary thought that I don't want to elaborate on because of the script kiddies out there, but I wonder what kind of checks are in place to prevent using this for a DOS attack. Hopefully the Lindens thought about it. Either way, I'm stoked. ![]() _____________________

Jora, a browser doesn't support PHP. The server hosting the website has to, not the browser.

Jora, a browser doesn't support PHP. The server hosting the website has to, not the browser. I knew it was server side. I host my own server. I'm just wondering if there are going to be any catches to prevent the use of PHP arguments on the address line. Hopefully not._____________________

If one can put HTML on a prim, should one also be able to put HTML on a notecard?
