I still can't get in!

I understand that many of you pay a lot more money than I do to play SL, and I understand you being angry that you can`t get in. In my case though.. I only pay 18 a month, I`m not going to totally flip my wig until I can`t log in for DAYS on end. Hell, just before i started tyoing this, I THOUGHT i was in.. but nope... went right to crash this time. *shrug* I`ll try a few more times tonight, if I don`t get in, i`ll wait and try again tomorrow. To all of ya that pay a small fortune and can`t get in.. I hope you all get in soon.!

Wow, I was just in.. for a second.. then a note came up telling me that I can`t get in for 1 more minute.. then one popped up under that saying something about that login packet, and yet another saying something about where I am being connected from. I am begining to wonder if my issues are MY computer and NOT SL...

Reading the forums as well and I also received that same "login packet never received by server" error message as well as many others. Nw that I been reading I'd have to agree about the crowd at the door..frustrating but what can I do.. patience is about it. Nice to know Its not the computer and that Im not the only one with the same problem.

Well, AGAIN, I was in for a slipt second.. then BAM.. a note popped up saying that I`m being connected from a different server and can try again at 11:40 (<~~my time ) it IS frustrating, but, I`ll keep trying.. I have nothing better to do at this time of night except maybe sleep, but I figure I`ll do that when I`m dead... know what I mean?? LOL

Same thing here... Progress bar gets to "Waiting for region handshake" then the following error:



I try again and it crashes, and I have to force quit SL (on Mac). Then it wants to send a crash log. Sent the first one, figured sending more would be pointless.

After it crashes I try again and get a message that the login server is already logging me in, and to wait until a certain time to retry, approximately 60 seconds.

Then I start all over again with the "login packet never received" error.

BUGGERRRRRRRRRRRR!

I just got yet another login error message.. seems as if each time I try to log in, I get a different error message.. a few minutes ago I thought it was my computer..I don`t think that`s the case after all... anyway.. good luck getting in.. i`m heading back to try yet again.... Darn my stubborn German bloodline.... lmao

well, i'm in the world now, but it would be great if i could move, every time i turn my computer locks up for a split second, several of those together and looks like you're not moving

same error ..I think im giving up for the night.. the error " Login Failed, the system is logging you in from another location right now. Your account will not be available until 2006-04-30 20:44:21 Pacific time." Well suppose Its time to give up tr again tomorrow afternon. Good Luck to the rest, Im thinking theses error are random coming out as Ive gotten a little oof all that seem to be coming out. Thanks all for your inputs

LOL.. still getting a different message each time I THINK I`m in.. if I could get to the forums, I would be reading like a crazy woman, but for some reason.. I can`t get to it.. I`m happy to hear that you made it in.. keep your fingers crossed for all of us poor souls standing out in the rain WITH NO UMBRELLAS waiting to get in. LOL

Okay, I'm still getting the "Login packet never received" error, but found that quitting the client after login fails before retrying seems to be preventing the crash. Something must be tickling a bug somewhere when the login fails that causes the crash.

I think they are just throwing out random stuff at this point... ok.. back to the song....

If you get some of the funny errors please close SL and click on this:

It'll log you in at a different region--Plum.

The "Your account will not be available" until so-and-so has to do with presence... the system may think you're wedged and logged in when you're actually *not*. It should go away by itself but if it doesn't, email me (torley@lindenlab.com) to have a further look if you got stuck.

OMG, I just got in, doing this same thing, but before the Torley-Goddess suggested it. GMTA! I used SLurl to log in to Ahern.

Apparently my home region is still hosed.

Torley got me in.. but as soon as I TP`d to my property, I got this loverly lil message..
" You have been logged out of second life. You have been disconnected from the region you were in.. blah , blah, blah.... GRRRRR

I got in without any problem, but, my SO had the same problem as many on this thread have had. He had been logged in when the grid was taken down. I wasn't. I hadn't even gotten up yet. lol

I was going to suggest changing login location (if you have yours set for last location) to home and also change the port setting if you are using one. I had done both not realizing the grid was down. This may help those who were not logged in when the grid was taken down but it won't help those who were since it is a database issue.

Not long after I got logged in, my partner was able to log in to our home region. The only reason I can see is that Torley jumped right on it and got it done after IMing me in-world.
