I want to know how those people logging in makes me not even be able to get to crash..I IMMEDIATLY go to "program not responding". Its not that I'm not getting a response from the server..its that the program completely stops working!

No, I'm not in, and I'm not trying. 3000+ people are trying to log in simultaneously. You think I'm going to waste my time trying to get in while that kind of foolishness is clogging the entrances? Instead I'm entertaining myself watching people ignore actual information from Torley so they can "vent" here and post the same uninformed complaint that's been made and answered at least 15 times tonight already. Ummm, right, If you really don't care about the grid still being down. (And what the lindens are saying does not help me log on) Then why are you "wasting your time" reading these forums... Yeah, sounds like you love SL too. |

Then why is it localized? Why can I, in Michigan, log in over and over again (with a short delay, but still get in), when a friend in Wisconsin gets the same error message every single time they try? That doesn't make any sense to me...is it a regional problem, is it the way the login system handles different states/WANs/whatever, or is it really just that bad of luck?

No. read the terms of service. If it's down for 24 hours, maybe you get a rebate. Otherwise you don't. You signed up for SL, you agreed to the TOS. You got the point  |

Hey everyone.. lets all get into a single file line, and pace ourselves as we walk to the open door of SL... IF we walk nicely and all use our inside voices, we may actually get in... LOL ( sorry, just trying to lighten the mood here a lil )

Yeah, sounds like you love SL too. Oh dear, yes I do love SL. And note I never said reading the fora was wasting my time. If it was, I wouldn't be doing it. And if what the Lindens are saying doesn't help you log on, then perhaps you should stop trying for a while until the maniacal log and relog attempts of people frustrated by slow logins stops choking the system. |

Why do we have to pay for a game that we can't play when we want to? I mean i know people who've paid thousands of dollars to LL. And this is what we get back in return? I'm afraid second life is going down*.. :\
*With all these crashes, people will eventually leave and find a new game to play. |

how many people asked for rebates? one maybe 2, most of us just want to log in and be with loved ones Don't worry about the ones crying for compensation.. They're probabaly the same kinds of people that want a refund for a used toothbrush. |

I'm pretty sure the problem wasn't entirely fixed and the grid was brought up prematurely because i remember other crashes and the grid coming back up with little to no problems.

Ok, I lied, I did try yet again to get in, but the crowd at the front door must still be HUGE... anyway.. the message I just got was a new one to me.. has anyone else ever gotten one that said.. " Login packet never received by login server" ? I only know the basics about computers, so I have no idea what that message means.. lol

HHAHAH I find this a bit funny........only a bit. I tried to log on to sl but got an error that something is wrong....The grid has been down for hours...
But why are there 5,000 users online and no one can get in? When I logged on to the website to see which of my lucky friends are able to get online.. I noticed that my alt av is online...The one I tried to just log on with. hhmmm...makes me wonder who is really online. Cause Ill try Leia now and see if my alt can see her online too! |
