How much land do you own and what do you do with it? Is it mainland or a private island?
I find my needs have changed since I started almost 2 years ago. I use land for different reasons now than I did then.

I own 512m in Orient used as a boat dock.
I share rent of a quarter of Mew, used as a home. I am about to rent a 4:1 sim in Otherland, used for eyecandy, boat dock, and vacation home. ![]() -Ghoti _____________________

You need a multi-sim option on this poll.
1 sim mainland + several private islands. _____________________

back at the $40 tier level, most of it at the Zen Living land in Achemon, across the tracks from the old Zen Garden.
The latest improvements in lighting effects and FPS made me come back from basic. _____________________

Currently at the $40 level. One plot I give a away some freebies I made, put a smiley face on the map, and sandbox in the sky. The other plot I currently have an airport just above cloud level and semi-regularly change the look of the Suisun northern shore with whatever I feel like at the time. Both are almost always in a state of uncompleteness.

$125/mo here, with the majority of the land in Apoda on the northern continent of the mainland. The 1540 sq. m. not in Apoda is right next door in Bhima, making up the south side of the moat around the keep.
What I use it for is a private residence/public park. The Fox's Den is both my SL home and totally open for anyone to walk along the grounds and in the forest, use the benches, onsen and teahouse, poke around the keep itself--kind of like an old castle turned into a national park in RL; that's the concept from which I'm working. |

The Shelter sits on total land just shy of half of a sim, but split between the 3 corners of 3 sims (Isabel, Wingo, Galinas).
The amount we pay month to month is way, way less than the $125, however - thanks to a combination of Tier Donations, and the remainder being a Tier-Rental arrangement with a very generous (and non-controversial) large landowner. ![]() _____________________

I purchased my 512sqm yesterday. I'm happy with it! Do wish I could put more than three items of furniture in the house, though.

About half of my tier supports the Slate land holding group. The rest is mainland Boardman and Taber. I'm saving for an estate sim for Fate Gardens. If that pans out, i'll have to let all of the Linden estate holding go as the business won't support both.
It's a hard decision; but the mainland just doesn't provide the tools to create and maintain a user-created environment sans a steady stream of lag inducing and view destroying nieghbors. It's a compelling place for new resident acclimation, the formation of online communities, and general socialization; still it's not a compalling place to live and work. _____________________

All I have at the moment is 4096 rented in Caledon.
I keep looking to see if there's a 512 I can use for... something... but I don't really ever see anywhere. |

How much land do you own and what do you do with it? Is it mainland or a private island? Near enough a whole sim in the northern continent. I have a couple of small plots elsewhere on the mainland which I use for my stores but most of the land I own is used for 'recreational building'. ![]() |

How much land do you own and what do you do with it? Is it mainland or a private island? All of my land holdings are in one sim right now on the mainland. It is a very quiet sim. I own about 12K of land in there and I am planning but about 4K more some place else for an additional gallery. Troy _____________________

I own 1/4 of Epimethius. Most of it is Forested. Only a small percenrage of it is inhabited, but I have high prim-count statues there, so it works out in the end.

I only have a 512 sq m parcel. I'd like to have enough so I can catapult a large wooden rabbit without it landing outside my land...for reasons best kept secret.

How much land do you own and what do you do with it? Is it mainland or a private island? I put down that I have 1/4 sim, but it's actually closer to 1/3. I'm doing that by paying for 1/4 sim myself, and then the aditional land by buying tier with an alt, and pooling with two friends. SL *really* needs to have more granularity in tier sizes, particularly at the higher levels. Almost all of it is in Meins, with a tiny sliver lof land still in Bishop where I started out. I'd *love* to own an island, but...even though I *might* manage the tier, (Perhaps sharing with a friend or two.) the set up cost is far beyond me. No way am I going to pay for that much land on the mainland though. Not with the limited options that the mainland has in terms of terain settings and textures, and privacy controls. |

I went from 125/mo to 40/mo tiers a while ago. I have completely isolated all of my holdings into Barcola (hey neighbors!), although I do miss my 28000m2 in Argent with the old terraforming restrictions.
I use my land group for leveraging tier and currently am using my land for a new project to improve the skyline in Nova Albion, and potentially get a few retailers in to increase sim traffic. More then anything the land I own is for builds as prim torture is what keeps me here... |

Went from 1/2 a sim down to the $40 a month mark, and own less than the $40/month allows, only because the sim I live on has no reasonably priced land to add to my land base in Abitibi.
Like Ingrid, my land needs changed over the past year as circumstances and SL changed (updates, rules, policies, etc.). I would like to own a private island though, and may in the future if things don't calm down with mainland griefers and if my new neighbors continue to build ugly (perhaps this is the plan LL has developed--to force premium land owners to buy islands by opening the flood gates to the teens and griefers?). I'd like to have space to display the builds of some of my friends who can't afford tier or the land to display them. If the island is not feasible and if I continue having the problems I'm having now, I'll probably tier down to basic and spend all my time at friends' homes in private sims. _____________________

How much land do you own and what do you do with it? Is it mainland or a private island? Personally, I do not own land. Sam still holds tier, but we find that renting in Chaotica to be a much better solution for us. We build and display our prefabs there as well as have a personal home. At this time I see no reason to purchase from LL again unless it is to buy our own private sim. I love the land we held in Benicia, but it was getting absurd to have to buy, piece by piece, the sim to just ensure a buffer zone from the chaos not to mention the huge tier fees for just mainland with its limited control features. _____________________

I have 2 lots out at Otherland at the $40 tier. I am thinking about buying a third...
My house is so beautiful and the setting is gorgeous I would hate to see people ruin it with unsightly builds. IM me for a looksy... |
