It's long since time this was said. There is no Phillip Linden despite what the evangelical zealots of the Faithful Inner Church would have you believe. You know the ones: fanatical, smug, self righteous because they have a direct line to Philip. They're constantly quoting from the holy TOS-rules handed down from on high by their almighty "creator".
Creationism, intelligent design, call it what you want-it's all hogwash. There is no intelligent design behind SL. Science has proven that we evolved from one celled purple balls then to primatars and finally to the AVs we are today.
Still not convinced? Well, if there really is a great and benevolent creator, why does he allow lag? Why do builders of hideously ugly clubs keep getting richer while many talented builders go poor?
I have never seen Phillip Linden. I have never heard his voice in my IMs. I say to you, fellow residents, turn away from the fanatical ravings of the Faithful Inner Church. Stand up and declare with me: THERE IS NO PHILLIP!!!

I am with Burke. I believe in Philip, just not with the organized religion that surrounds his presence.
Philip is in each and one of us. You can talk with Philip without the use of any formal organisation or personel either by prayer or just sending an e-mail (the latter may produce better results). |

I'm not much for religion, but ... I saw his Avatar on my own screen.
He appeared in the middle of the Linden Winter Festival, and Spoke unto the assembled participants, Reassuring them about the issues of the day. I saw several people dancing, but in retrospect, I think they might have been experiencing some sort of rapture due to His appearance. And more than one person seemed to be speaking in tongues, with almost a sort of recurring benediction that I can only transcribe as "lol". Though I do find it a little odd that even the presence of Philip was not enough to prevent someone from attacking and scattering the people across the landscape. Including several Lindens. I guess Philip works in mysterious ways. _____________________

Yes, Kiamat, there is a Philip Linden. He exists as certainly as prims and Lindex and permissions exist, and you know that they abound and give to your Second Life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Philip Linden! It would be as dreary as if there were no Kiamats. There would be no Torleys then, no scripting, no avvie sex to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The external light with which Second Life fills the world would be extinguished.
Not believe in Philip! You might as well not believe in collision sprites. You might get your friends watch all the sims every day to catch Philip, but even if you did not see Philip teleport in, what would that prove? Nobody but the FIC sees Philip, but that is no sign that there is no Philip. _____________________

Nobody but the FIC sees Philip, but that is no sign that there is no Philip. Search for Phil! $L5,000 to the first to cage a real live Phil for exhibition. It is the only way. _____________________
