From: Yiffy Yaffle Seriusly all this down time, database issues, hardware changing, and grid attacks is for the birds... No offence Psyra. How many more days till SL will be 100%? *gets her time machine ready* I'm okiee. I'd voice my support in these times for SL and LL, but the forumgoers are getting more and more like WoW forumgoers. Where they all turn into enormous (but rather cute) psychotic hawks and leap upon you shredding with talons chanting "OMFG U FANBOI DY DY DY PLZ TKSYUU DDDDDDDYYYYYY!"

Here's my favorite Magnum refund thread: /invalid_link.htmlFrom: Magnum Serpentine Will we be refunded?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I put 9050 into rating people and only had 3000 ratings back. Now I only have something like 5800.
Will I get back the 3900 or so Lindens I paid into the system to rate people That the Lindens deleated? And if not, why?
Also, I understood that only the 3 ratings would be wiped, not how many you gave out.
I am growing increasingly unhappy with this whole rating situation and bonuse situation. Want a refund for a slice of pizza you just ate too? Regards, -Flip

I was going to kick and complain and demand my downtime compensation, but uhh.. I just realized that I just made that money back in the time that it took me to read through this thread while I'm at work.

I still think the couch or under your driver's seat are the best places to find refunds on down-time.

I think forcing folks to contemplate getting up and going outside to breathe some fresh air is more than enough compensation.

From: Jennyfur Peregrine What amazes me is that everytime Magnum posts something anything really that its met with the same response from the forum community and yet he continues knowing full well that everyone will again try to squeeze spaghetti out of a boulder and explain logic and reason to him. Only to have it seen as a personal attack on his intelligence or lack there of. There is not an "everyone" who thinks as you do, Jennyfur; that is the problem. And all those "everybodies" you imagine do not make up the "forum community" that you imagine. There are many who think Magnum is right. And those, like me, who would point to the TOS (and the fact that the grid wasn't down to everyone) and say he isn't right, but wouldn't even think to call him stupid and all the other things if there weren't six people in here already doing that, since it was a reasonable thought for him to have. It certainly crossed my mind, and I knew there has been a precedent for it. So it's really not a case of one moron among geniuses, here. There's more than one of us morons! haha no I don't mean that, of course. There are more people who have thought what he did, and it is ridiculous to assume that he is some lone voice in the wilderness that others can then rightfully put down. It just makes the others look intolerant, among other things. coco

From: Magnum Serpentine I feel that even in the Real world everything should be free. We can get Robots and computers to make everything. And computers can be designed to repair themselves. From: Cocoanut Koala There are many who think Magnum is right.
There are more people who have thought what he did, and it is ridiculous to assume that he is some lone voice in the wilderness that others can then rightfully put down. Not too many who think that, I should hope.

It just makes the others look intolerant, among other things. coco All I am saying Coco is that most of Magnums threads read like Mad Libs we just fill in the blanks as we go. I guess we have different definitions of what stupid means. To me - explaining the same reason and logic over and over again only to be met with a complete and utter lack of understanding or acceptance on any level. Its the same shit different day and its been going on for years. I just call them as I see them. My cats understand basic simple things like not to crap on the floor or eat my cereal. I expect this of most humans. I am more than willing to admit when i am wrong and to point out flawed estimates of unfounded judgements. Personally, I think everyone who demands compensation for these random patches of downtime are full of shit and stupid. Why? Because logic indicates that if Linden Lab were to compensate monetarily every single 175,000 residents for downtime when it happens that they would quickly go out of business and then there would be no second life. They have to draw the line somewhere and they tend to employ logic when doing things. Sure it annoys me when the grid is being flaky and i cant login. but i get over it and move on. I would have loved to log in last night instead I exercised for 45 minutes, watched two episodes of Passions, watched some Buffy re-runs and read a chapter in a book. I survived and so can everyone else with out pissing up shit storms of self-righteous bullshit in the process.

ignorant - lacking information on a subject stupid - being unable to understand information on a subject fucktard = (ignorant + stupid) * proud of both
Do the math

This shit still goin? hahahah Jen, once upon a time I had a puppy - it was cute but it shat on the carpet. So I would get his nose and rub it in the dog shit and say Bad Boy! and he would go to the corner and pout for an hour. And he would come back and shit on the carpet again - and I would go through the lil trainin ritual over again. In the end we got to the stage where he would shit on the carpet - shove his nose in it, then go sit in the corner. We can hope that one day we will see a reccurance of those events here

coco Referring to Magnum actually. But you already knew that - I say retarded shit all the damn time, only I don't take it seriously. My style is more shitting in your handbag while you're not looking. Or sneaking a pube into your mayo jar and putting it back in your fridge.
