I think the customers need some kind of Rebate or compensation for loss of game time.

Found it here: http://secondlife.com/corporate/tos.php
3.8 Service Credit for Unscheduled Downtime. You will be eligible to receive Service Credit toward recurring service fees (e.g. monthly account fees, 90 Day account fees, annual account fees, and land use fees) for Unscheduled Downtime. "Unscheduled Downtime" is an unplanned or unscheduled interruption in Service availability for a period of at least twenty-four (24) hours during which you are unable to access the Service. Unscheduled Downtime is measured from the time the Service is 100% unreachable for a period of at least twenty- four (24) hours until Service is once again restored. The following are excluded from the calculation of Unscheduled Downtime: (i) scheduled maintenance downtime; (ii) problems outside of our Service (upstream providers, or your inbound connection) not affecting 100% loss to our Service; (iii) interruptions or failure of Service caused by you or your representatives (including inaccurate configuration, third-party software, abuse or over-utilization of resources, hacked servers, attacks, exploits, or server hardware failures); and (iv) causes beyond Linden's reasonable control and occurring without Linden's fault or negligence, including natural disasters, wars, terrorist acts, riots or other violent upheaval, governmental restrictions and actions, and performance failures of a third party outside Linden's control. The amount of any Service Credit will be based on the pro rata percentage of Unscheduled Downtime during your billing cycle (e.g., if there is 1 day of Unscheduled Downtime in a 30-day month for your monthly account, you will receive a Service Credit for 1/30th of your recurring service fees). Any Service Credit will be credited to you during your next billing cycle. I have underlined the relevant part for your convenience. So for all the people who are moaning about "omgwtfbbq giev monay" or somesuch ... relax , take a break and try to get back ingame later. No Lindens dont have to repay you for being unable to log in for 5 hours , deal with it. You basicly agree to this ToS each time you patch/install the game. |

Resist putting money in to the system, but demand money out. This is a recurring theme for you. How did you get ahold of my account records? Besides you don't know how much I pay a month in tier fees Thus this makes this post a personal attack. |

Well, some people are still in, and therefore aren't having downtime, and therefore the system technically isn't down.
I wonder just how much they're able to get done in there, though, those who work a lot. coco _____________________

LOL.. I always laugh when I see compensation for downtime threads.. Poeple never really understand how cheap these forms of entertainment are.
So let's say you are a Premium Member, so you are actually paying per month. $10 for 1 month's time. There hasn't even been 24 hours TOTAL downtime this month yet, but let's say there was. You'd be entitiled to: $10/30days= $0.34 Yes, your grand compensation for your lost time is a whopping 34 cents. Go couch diving and you'll find your compensation. What? You own an ENTIRE sim?? Oh my.. So you pay $205/mo.. That's a nice chunk of change.. let's see what your compensation is then: $205/30days=$6.84 Yup, the price of a lunch at a Pizza joint. Again, a good couch dive and maybe vacuuming your car with a hand-vac can get you your compensation. So, I'll be over here laughing at people who want compensation for less than a day's downtime. ![]() |

Nice personal attack there... And I believe use of name is against the TOS. No, not when responding to your post - even for you that is a wayward leap off the left side of logic and commonsense. We live in a time where ignorance and stupidity are near commonplace - but you are, without a doubt, one of the most retarded people I have ever met. I would congratulate you on that, but I fear you would not comprehend it. _____________________

I don't agree with Magnum Serpentine that anyone deserves any compensation for this downtime.
Magnum Serpentine is wrong. Magnum Serpentine is very, very wrong about this subject. Magnum Serpentine likes Gorean roleplaying. _____________________

Nice personal attack there... And I believe use of name is against the TOS. How many times must you be wrong about this before you realize it, Magnum? _____________________

You mean there is a rule in the ToS that you cannot post someone's name or quote the log of their posts from the thread itself?
And here I thought that was referring to bringing a personal conflict from inside SL to the forums.. Silly me. |
