I got that message quite a while back on something I made that had just disapeared from my inventory. I hate that it gives the user this message without saying that it's their system that ate the items at least.. This should send a message to the creator or something so we know that someone has actually lost something.

I was really frustated when I got that thinking "Here's our next epidemic." When we started selling shoes so long ago they were copy, no transfer and you'd be amazed how many people didn't like their shoes.. We changed them to no copy/transfer and so many more people were suddenly happy with their shoes. We had a handful come in and buy after we had changed and within a day said they hated them and we would say "o.k. give them back we'll give you a refund" and they'd said "No.. They're no transfer, just give me my money back." After being informed they were transfer now they suddenly weren't so bad and 9 out of 10 didn't want their money back anymore.

I have great customers 99% of the time but when the scams start it goes into epidemic proportions fast.

Bookmarked this--going to research further and let the right Lindens know ASAP. Anyone else experiencing related problems who hasn't posted yet, please do!

Why isn't Apotheus on this thread? He probably does a lot more volume than boutique..

Maybe because slexchange.com has always had problems with deliveries - quite a lot of them. Maybe it just hasn't hit his radar yet because of that *shrug*

Because it's so random, I guess alot of people aren't picking up on the problem. And we're also quite used to having some delivery failures over time. I've only actually had one of my vending machine users bring it up with me, but with thousands of my vending machines out there I'd be really suprised if it wasn't affecting more of them.

Hi! So far this is what I have:

- llGiveInventory fails sometimes. Ya'll aren't sure why :p

There's a reason for it and we just have to find that reason. If you notice this happen please do me a favor and send me an IM with ...

1. The sim number you were on (Help > About Second Life ... it's sim123.agni.lindenlab.com).
2. The SL time of the incident.
3. What was being transferred.
4. The item's permissions.
5. Where the agent was in respect to the the vendor (were you on the same plot? Same sim? Same virtual world? ... you know we don't support inventory transfers from WoW, right? :p )
6. The name of the agent who owns the vendor and the name of the agent receiving (er, trying to receive?) the goods.
7. How long the agent has been online.

That last one is my hunch, along with where the agent is inworld in respect to the vendor. We have seen some weird issues with agent presence as of late (agents being reported as online when they logged off 5 minutes ago, agents receiving offline IM's when they are in fact online but on a hidden estate, etc).

Thanks, with your help we can squish this one :)

Brent, I sent an IM and dropped a notecard on you regarding this... Interestingly, now the vendor that is in the same sim as the server works fine, but the one at Bens doesn't...
