I bought for location...I paid premium (HUGE) for location because there WERE hubs which drew people there also. LL ripped them out very quickly. I like P2P. LL knew at the time I bought my land that hubs were to be removed.

When you accepted the terms of service one of the things you accepted is that LL can make changes to the service at any time, for any reason, at their sole discretion, and without prior notice.

So you lied about only buying it to have a place for others to play Tringo. You bought it because you thought it was valuable and it was an investment. Why didn't you just say that in the first place?

I bought at premium for location that was changed (this place is FILLED with genius's)

Yes I did...and they modified it during this hub ordeal where we either excepted or lost everything...I'm not rich..I'm not a land baron and $700 is a lot to me. I stated once and I'll state again I DO LIKE P2P...this is not about p2p vs hub.

LL has offered to pay $10L per m2 for hub land. Will this qualify for that?

I'm not going to try to take a side in this, the ToS pretty much says 'Enh, screw you, we can do whatever we like, whenever we like, and you can kiss our bum.' Pretty standard. On the other hand, I'd probably be pissed off too, were I you.

What I really wanted to say though, was: You're not helping yourself any by snapping back at everyone. You wanted public exposure, you got it. I think most reasonable people will think 'Ow, that bites, Bri.' and sympathize, even if they don't agree you should be repaid. Until you start being a jerk about it, that is, then you've pretty much slashed yourself with a knife and jumped in with the sharks.

My mother always asked me to show her where it was written that life is fair. The same applies to Second Life. :)

I paid premium for location. It had value. No longer has same value. (another genius)

Do you fit into the criteria for the buyback (which by the way I don't agree with - but I'm also sure I don't see the big picture the company does)

If so - it will be bought back.
If not - tough titties.

You said you didn't buy it for its L$ Value - but for other reasons - which remain unchanged due to the P2P move. In fact they probably IMPROVED on the virtues you *SAY* you bought the land for.

It appears to me you want a fast buck...

I truely believe there should be an asshole tax on people that post on forums just to be one (not you MJ...and ty for your kind responce) :D

Your Welcome.

As far as your comment above goes, just try to also keep in mind that most of the people responding have lost L$ due to SL changes/bugs/updates and have never been compensated. You are actually being offered to have your land bought back by LL for 10$L/m2 which is very rare. Only one other time did I see LL offer to give L$ for their mistake. So, this is a old and very sore subject for most of these residents (whom you think are assholes). Just FYI :)

Another point worth mentioning - did LL sell you the land? If you got it at Auction - if I had my way I'd buy it for the start price of that auction.

If bought from another player - they set the price - not LL - and noone twisted anyones arm to buy it for a premium price.

Some people see a 'black lotus MTG card worth 3,000 dollars' others (like myself) see a peice of cardboard.

But the question still remains, if you didn't buy the land for L$, and its no less (if not more) productive than beforehand, why do you want to sell it?

Ok you don't seem to get this concept for some reason, so here goes, as others have said, it still bears repeating since you are making no fucking sense:

You bought it for its location - its location has not moved. In fact, it has become more easily accessible and less laggy - it is even more of an ideal Tringo spot right now, so that is a bonus - you got more than you originally invested in - the conditions have improved. You can't argue your way out of this - you have lost nothing. Ugh, what a pathetic waste of time.

Lol it kinda reminds me of conversations I have with people who paid 500 bucks for a borked free hottub...

It doesn't work...
..oh have a free one..
..FREE? I paid 500 bucks for this
Not to me
and it doesn't work!
Well I never got a dime - its free!
BUT I PAID 500 for it!
Well go yell at the person you paid
No, I want 500 dollars back - because it's free..
...Yeah I gave you the free one.
YES BUT I PAID 500 FOR IT!!!!

like its your fault someone else pissed in their weeties.. it just goes round and round and round - like a duran duran record with a scratch - goes on for-fucking-ever and unlike fine wine doesn't improve with age.

I get why you're upset, but the compensation applies only to those who bought their land during that certain period of time, for various reasonable reasons, and if you missed out on it, then you missed out on it. If you ask me, they did just right in deciding who would get this compensation. Those who lived there longer got more use out of the telehub land as telehub land than those who bought it just before it changed (or right after the Lindens knew it was changing, or soemthing like that).

Cut-off dates are like that. My state didn't offer well-baby insurance coverage until after mine were too old to qualify anyway. Things ALWAYS happen to me like that! We're always just under or just over or just beyond or just before whatever the good thing is/was. Or we get right up to it and then they change it, lol. Them's the breaks.
